I bought this unit because I needed a daily driver and all my friends had ATV's, which I could not afford. I used it as my road legal quad with a windshield and heat on those cold days. Got my bike after the truck.
Other than a minor head gasket leak that started after I bought it, it was a decent truck and performed it's duties as required.
She was destroyed during one night of fun when the head gasket leak got to bad to use it every day. Went offroading until it wouldn't move. The frame and body were to rusted the truck was not worth fixing. The powertrain can be rebuild and used elsewhere.Apr 20, 2013

great hot rod truck, easy to find parts, low cost replacement parts, fuel economy? for get about it... lol fun project truck finding one with a manual transmission is a plus or just do a conversion Tremec has some nice tranny choices. Also ealier models are smog exempt so you can had dual exhaust and header with no worriesNov 16, 2011

The performance is top notch for something this old, although its primarily stock
there are a few things different that have been done to it. Braking is alright it
would be better if it had disc brakes on it. I havent had to many problems with it, it
has only needed minor maintenanceJun 28, 2011

This truck is fun to drive and take to care shows. The truck gets around 6 miles to the gallon on average. My truck runs pretty good for having a 406 small block chevy motor in it. It is pearl white with 33x12.50x16 with a 4 inch rancho lift.Nov 09, 2009

I have a black '77 chevy half ton short whlbse sittin on one ton runnin gear with 4:56:1 gears, 4spd granny low, a solid sbb 350 with cam and headers. I'm runnin 38 1/2 by 15s under a 3 inch body lift. If your lookin for a truck to go off roadin in, these model trucks are the best. Durable, stout, tough, long lasting etc. I doubt you can find one thats show room quality but if you can find one in descent condition, you found a diamond in the rough. vehicles arent tough like they used to be. i have a 01 z71, and u know those are practically nothin but fiberglass. honestly, i feel safer in that old 77 than i do in my z. but not only are they tough, their easy and cheap to repair! And with those low gears, i get about the same gas mileage in it as my z gets. One last thing, the truck itself has over 475K miles on it. Chevy- Like a Rock!Oct 01, 2008

Its an awesome truck. That weighs 4500 pounds with me in it. I weighed it at a truck scale. Its solid and is cheap to repair when something breaks.Mar 28, 2008

Mine is a 1977 Chevy K10. It's got a 350cid motor with a Muncie 4-speed 465 tranny and 373 gears. Under the hood it has a new K&N Air system, Quadrajet Carborator, Edelbrock Perfromer RPM Intake Manifold, and a few extras. I just rebuilt the trannsmission and put true dual Flowmaster 40series exhaust on it. Paint is half primer half baby blue.Mar 17, 2008
