Performance - Half decent with the 350, better with the 327, good braking ability and excellent handling for '76. Build Quality - Exellent. Well built. Built like a tank. Appearance - Classic Monte Carlo styling with extremely accented fender curves. Cost of Ownership - About 17 MPG. Doesn't require excessive maintenance. Fun Factor - The most fun car to drive of any I own/ have owned.Mar 22, 2011

Build quality not exactly what it was prior to the seventies or after the seventies. With a smogged-out 350 you've only got about 170 hp to move over 4000 pounds. The car is a blast to drive, it looks good and gets looks wherever you go. A definite looker.Oct 19, 2009

Cars this size usually don't have much style too them, but the Monte Carlo was a winner for GM up until they tried to reduce the size in 78 to save on gas. The smaller Monte's still have a place in the evolution of Monte Carlo styling, but the 2nd generation to me had it all. For those that owned them will never forget them. Apr 11, 2007
