Fun to drive, cheap to maintain. Kids look at it and ask what is that. Keep the car out of the rain. Italian 1970 metal not known to withstand rain or road salt. To work on this car you need small hands or know a good old Italian mechanic. Great weekend car. My x1/9 bright YELLOW.Apr 25, 2012

1974s had euro bumpers, a different rear end gear ratio, different cam timing, and Magnetti Marelli fuel injection. They were 250 lbs lighter than the next models and because of the well developed 12b SOHC engine and Magnetti Marelli electronics, very realiable. After 74 they got heavier, slower, and had god knows what kind of electrics. Some X1/9's even came with Lucas electrics in part. And those awful twin bar bumpers to satisfy DOT standards.........Horrible.Nov 21, 2009

best thing was the car was fun to drive. The worst thing was the dealers didn't know haw to work on them. Found someone that could work on them and knew what they were doing. I had this car until 1987 it had 150,000 + miles on it an no problems after I quit taking it to the dealers.loved the style need a little more power. Learn to do my owne brakes, which was real easySep 27, 2009
