This was a cool car in 73. Bought in midwest with aftermarket a/c that came in
handy after moving South. Light, nimble and sporty. That was the good part. For
the 3 1/2 years I owned the car I replaced a wiper motor, heater fan and coil.
Never had any of these on any other car let alone on one. This was also the first
year of major pollution control on cars so deiseling and hard starting were
undesirable side effects.Jan 01, 2013

My favorite car, hands down, just not a very good specimen that I own. Absolutely gorgeous and the straight 6 is fun, but time has taken it's toll on the interior and exterior. Not a fan of the drum brakes in the rear, but kits to udate the suspension and brakes exist for a price. Rust was always a big problem on the S30 bodies and this one is no exception.Jun 23, 2012

Hopefully it will be fun, still a long ways off though. Next summer maybe. love the looks hopefully i can make it perform as well. Needs a good amount of going through and freshening up though. When i'm done it should be a track weapon.Sep 15, 2009

The Datsun 240Z was the "affordable" answer to those that longed for a Jaguar/GT look alike. The wonderful balance of chrome and fastback design make it a rolling piece of art. It grips the road suprisingly well for its age.Jul 06, 2009

These little cars are a great toy to have and work on. Only problem is u cant find any with the floor still intact or not bent bempers. most get rolled and crushed but the inline 6 with dual carbs is what got me started on this car. AMAZING ON CORNERS! The independant suspension really goes great but lil bumps will have you total your car so get a stiff suspension if u got the money and like driving cars to there full potential.Sep 04, 2008

They rust like crazy, but run like a madman! I never did find the windshield wiper motor I was looking for. I just wish I had found one that spent it's early years in a garage in Arizona.Jul 12, 2008

This car has been a long project, and I really need to finish it up. I honestly don't know why I can't just set my mind to it and get it done!May 28, 2008

This car has been well maintained and it shows in the way it looks and drives. I would like a little more power from the car, but who doesn't want that?May 20, 2008

so, this is me and my dad's project car: a 1973 Datsun 240Z. its in pretty good shape for a car of its age. the engine is the stock 150 hp inline-6 with twin four-barrel sidedraft carbs. the engine is pretty much stock, although the carbs, exhaust headers and valves are aftermarket. its very fast, and it handles like a ferrari. it probably looks like its in great shape in the picture, but it needs some work. I'm in the process of rebuilding the engine with all performance parts, and we're completely overhauling the interior. We're gonna repaint it to royal blue with two white stripes down the middle. it'll be a monster when it's done! Jan 14, 2008

This was the last 240Z to be sold out of Singapore. It was tricked out by the dealer (along with a gold 260Z 'sister' car) with steel flares, 8 inch American mags and front and rear spoilers. Both cars were purchased by New Zealand Airforce personel and brought to New Zealand. Once here, the 240Z engine was re-built by legendary Datsun builder Reg Cook. The head was radically shaved, race cam installed, blue-printed and balanced with tuned headers and a large diameter truck exhaust (big bnore exausts were unknown then). The engine would rev to over 9000 rpm. Nismo struts were installed in front with valved Konis in the back. It lived up to it's name, being able to top out at 240kph. The gold sister 260Z later had a v8 engine installed and is still believed to live in the mid North Island of New Zealand.Jan 10, 2008
