My Swinger had a 225 cu. in. slant six, which put out adequate power, but not enough to impress. It got 20 mpg, at the very best, because it had the 3-speed A904 auto trans, which needed an overdrive 4th gear. It was built solidly, but wasn't very fun to drive. With the engine and trans this car had, along with the vinyl front bench seat, this car only looked good with the right wheels and tires, but was a performance dog. I'm sure it was a different story with a 340. I would have enjoyed driving one of those.Aug 17, 2009

Its great on looks and sounds. Could be faster and because its so light it has great handling. Love the body shape it is a easy body to find parts for because its A body. Lots of trunk room. It gets looks everywhere.Jul 20, 2009

its actually a dodge demon. but its got a race built 340 small block with a manual valvebody automatic. i'm sure no one is going to know what i'm talking about but whatever. i love my car it may not turn all that well but i can eat just about anything in a straight line.Sep 17, 2008

Nicknamed "Lurch" the ole Dart was a character. Got me thru college and to many a party in the 5 college area. It was also ugly and loud enough to be totally cool in the punk rock way. It barely could go over 80, but had so much torque you could blow donuts for hours. I remember doing the math and realizing the damn thing was only getting 7 miles to the gallon. The engine exploded on a highway trip andI left it abandoned in front of a junkyard, then walked to a diner to call my Dad.Aug 08, 2008

These cars are great. mine is mostly original with fresh paint and seat covers. It has a 225 Slant 6 engine and a 904 auto trans with tall highway gears. I bought this to use as a daily driver/cruiser and could not be more pleased. She drives like new with no loose motion in the steering, the ride quality is superior to anything I've rode in in a very long time and the Slant 6 is a smooth yet torquey powerplant that is happy to cruise at 75MPH all day long. This car gets compliments everywhere we go and is very fun to drive. They just don't build them like they used to!Jul 16, 2008
