It took me and a friend 20 days a month for 7 months to do a mild frame on resto. Very rare and may be the last SS ever built, according to a letter from Gm and the vin number.Aug 27, 2013

Got a great deal on this, Cant wait for warmer weather to get this out and about. Need a headliner, and was possibly going to try to install myself. could use some advice there. Any words of encouragement, or discouragement will be appreciated.Jan 27, 2013

nothing,
its not the fastest car with its stock engine in it but even just changing the 4th gear ratio to a 3.73 will give more torque to push that boat.
ive driven one once before and it was amazing!Nov 06, 2009

its a lil rusty, but it still looks like a muscle car. its fairly fast accelorating and steers like a boat.
it needs a paint job, but the paint still looks good and the car itself is in great condition.
it has 324000 miles on one engine one tranny and it is all original except for exhaust and the ignition system.

The 1971 model year saw only modest styling changes. Inside, the SS model got new "European symbol knobs", and a four-spoke steering wheel became optional. Mechanically, it was largely unchanged, although the small-block Turbo-Fire 400 two-barrel engine was dropped. Other engines had compression ratios lowered to allow the use of regular leaded, low-lead, or unleaded gasoline, per a GM corporate edict. Engine ratings fell to 245 hp (183 kW) for the base Turbo-Fire 350 in³ (5.7 L) two-barrel, 270 hp (201 kW) for the Turbo-Fire 350-4V, and 300 hp (224 kW) for the Turbo-Jet 400. The SS 454 engine was actually raised to a nominal 365 gross hp (272 kW) despite the reduction in compression ratio.May 28, 2008
