very fun to drive. great gas mileage and super cool looking. handling is great and rear wheel drive is awesome for getting sodeways. Maintenance is quite expensive though, Bought a thermostat and it cost me 65 bucks. So if you can afford the maintenance get one. Jun 25, 2010

My first (of 3) BMW 2002 was dark green with tan interior. It was a blast to drive even stock. I loved it's handling characteristics, especially on mountain roads. The tranny and shift were rock solid and smoth. It was fun to beat Datsun 240 Zs off the line. For a boxy little two door sedan it was a sleeper, but that is what made it so fun. It was very easy to work on (tune-ups) and other than brakes which I went through regularly by getting into corners too deep, it was solidly built. I paid $4000 out the door for it, and would do the same today in a New York minute.Jun 28, 2008

Well it is an 1800 model, but since it isn't possible to choose such, I called it otherwisely.Jun 27, 2008

Drove my first BMW 2002tii when I was 16 - totally smitten. I've
purchased and driven a succession of them over the years but for
some reason this was the most fun. Although it lacked a heater core, a
blower motor, defroster, or working wipers I drove it every day... even
in snow and rain. I sold it to a friend to make way for a baby boy and
a 911 and have been trying to buy it back ever since (I'm talking to
you Joey!).
