She is a ground up restoration. Came out of the factory with a 383 and now sits with a 440 out of a 1970 Superbird. Does it rattle? Hell yes! I rattled too at 43 years old! Color is Viper Red. Appraised at $50,000, we have $45,000 in to it. She is fun to drive and yes, I brag every chance I get! Apr 06, 2011

Brutal engine. Not so good handling. Great sound! Tire smoking car!!! Nothing can beat this in visual design. Remember it is a 68 model. Easy to find performance parts to this car and new types of suspension and brakes. if you are thinking of gas milage on this car, dont bother buying it. it is thirsty as hell!!!!Apr 04, 2010

Big, heavy, beautiful, powerful. Classic American muscle. Compared to modern cars it gets dreadful mileage and has mediocre brakes.
I don't care.
Mine is a 440 4-speed. It's a blast to drive and turns heads everywhere it goes. I can't imagine ever selling it. Feb 20, 2010

My first car was a 1968 Dodge Charger. It was pretty rough when I got it. Rust everywhere 150,000 plus miles and all stock. I spent the time and effort to rebuild everything I could. New front suspension, new rear end, engine and transmission. But it still had the rusty body and worn out interior. I was in the process of fixing all that when I finally decided to get rid of it. Looking back I really wish I never got rid of it. I would have been able to do so much with it now. Man I really miss that car and it was only one of two cars I ever owned that I wish I still had today.Feb 20, 2010

Totally bad ass looking. Gotta have a 440 and 6 pack with 4 on the floor. Dodge's best looking car. Love the flying buttresses, tail lights, and open grille. Add gloss black paint and it makes for a nasty machine.Jan 14, 2010

amazing performance, has breathtaking acceleration but handles like a battleship. loads of wallowing and cant take corners at more than 30 mph. dont even ask about the brakes, lol.
no need for any repairs but, everything squeaks or rattles. exterior styling is all muscle while the interior is quite basic for equipment but very spacious and comfortable.
cost of ownership - around town is 10 to the gallon but almost double that on a motorway, maintenence can be costly, depending what you need and whether you can do it yourself or not.
the fun factor is unbeatable - the best way to laugh while something empties your bank account for you.Dec 13, 2009

It was a 440 4sp with a 3.55 dana rear end with bucket seats and console which made for interesting shifting as the shifter handle came up through the center and over to the driver.Had a 150 mph speedo and i managed to see 135 mph Nov 17, 2009

It's a car I always wanted, but I doubt I'll ever have one. It's a great car, from it's Hemi engine to it's bad boy looks. If someone ask's me to choose between a Charger and a Mustang, Charger is the only right answer ;)Oct 16, 2009

This was my first car, knuckle-dragging brute horsepower. steered like a boat on jell-o, needed an arrestor hook to stop but boy did it go fast in a straight line a real throttle monster. Mine was a 383CI Magnum with a 4 speed transmission (manual natch'). It went to heaven via a concrete telephone pole. It was a my first love and was a rust bucket as they all were from the factory, but boy was it fast.Aug 19, 2009

This is the start of the three best years that Charger had for looks. Sexy, sexy! Granted it's now a 40 year old relic from the past that wasn't the greatest in first place. Flawed design, Poor air flow, horrible brakes and the steering was worse! 6 1/2 turns from lock to lock! Evasive driving wasn't thought of then. Today, still not the best car, but, with suspension and brake kits these cars can probably be built to out perform a modern Mustang GT.
This car was a rocket, point it straight, hammer down and hope you don't run out of road, because you can't turn! The recessed grille trapped air causing the car to be light on the steering tires at higher speeds, get going too fast on a bend and you better know how to drift.
Gas mileage,hmm 6-8mpg maybe 10 with a tail wind.
Brakes were four drums which got hot after two hard stops, then stopping required a lot of time and distance, transmission down shifting and possible heel dragging.
Handling, well, it's 4000lbs, with no power steering, enough said. The fun with this car is just starting it! When she barks over and the comp cam barely keeps it idling..... that's the symphony of muscle car music!Jan 10, 2009

I built it, Its fast and fun to drive! I started the project when i was 16, and have been continuing to mod it today. So far it has ran a best of 11.70@113 mph. Next year the car will be a new monster! The only thing i dislike about it, is when it breaks, means more money out of the pocket! Oct 27, 2008

Me and my pops bought this car so we could fix it up, its a true 68 Charger R/T with a big block 440. So technically I don't know how it performs, or the build quality, cause as of right now it is a rusted up pile of parts. But when I'm done with it, it will run like a raped ape on crack. Its another root of money wasted. But hey I love cars.Sep 15, 2008

Welllllllll i really only owned this car by default. It was my dad's R/T that we never restored. *sad* It would have been awesome to drive it, however, as when it was started up it made the sickest sound. Jul 12, 2008

I wish I had never gotten rid of it. 383 magnum, 727 automatic trans with chrome side pipes. At 15 I didn't know enough to keep it running properly. Dad made me get rid of it for something more reliable. A '62 ford uni-body pick-up.Jul 01, 2008

My dad's car. Loved it. Hardcore Mopar hemi style muscle, but was our family car for years. The two doors made it hard to get into the back seat. The interior got really hot in the summer and I don't recall there being air conditioning in this one.Mar 01, 2008
