I love it. Its good on gas, clean and runs great, She is good from bumper to bumper and is reliable each and every time I drive her. I bought her in 2009 for $700.00 and restored it in my garageNov 18, 2014

If you have driven 70's models this is way better. The steering is very light, it feels a lot bigger inside, and looks better. My car handles great, no dangerous under steer or over steer. If other owners have this problem you might not have the tire pressure at 17psi front and 26psi rear. I would recremend this car to anyone looking for a easy project or a good car.Jun 29, 2012

After almost 50 years working on cars, the simplicity of this little engineering marvel never ceases to amaze me. When I was younger, it was all about horsepower; now it is about engineering, simplicity, and keeping this great little car alive and running well.Dec 03, 2011

List many folks my age, my first car was a VW Beetle. The '67 Beetle was the first to come with a 12 volt electrical system, a gas guage as standard equipment and the first with no reserve gas tank. $5.00 would fill the tank and I could drive all week on 10 gallons of gas. Better hope you didn't have to use the windshield washers too often, or your spare tire would go flat. Single-ported 1600cc engine provided about 58 hp into a 4 speed transaxle gearbox. Had to make sure that the ice scraper was nearby when driving in the winter, as that was how most VW drivers kept ice off the inside of the windshield. The cars were clunky, cold, cramped, sluggishly performing, and quirky as hell. The rear end was so heavy that if it ever cut loose on you, it'd be the front end before you knew it.
I can't wait to own another one!Dec 22, 2010

Very comfortable to ride..
It has a unique look for a old sports compact car.
It has a good quality to think that this car is bought by my grand father way back
1968 and until know its still alive. But you have to expect some major or minor
repairs for it is a vintage car..Dec 01, 2010

More bugs made than any other model or make on the planet! No make of car had the testing before production runs like the VW! An entire sub-culture was started by this car. It floats! Best car ever made! Done!Nov 11, 2010

This car has the distiniction of being the cheapest car I've ever bought and also being the car that caught fire the fastest after I purchased it (I've had 2 car fires). It caught fire 2 miles after I picked it up.Jul 24, 2009

CarGurus list the wrong model, it was a 1500 (type 1), I picked Beetle since that is the closest match.
It had a 44 hp 1500 cc engine that made it kind of fun to drive, but some of the fun probably came out of the questionable handling.
Old VW's means a lot of rust, no heat, terrible noise and no creature comfort.
But it started almost every day and a perfect city car since there was no need to be afraid to scratch the paint job (what paint job?)

This 1967 Beetle has an awesome story. It was bought new by a young soldier whom did not return from war. His father drove the car until he retired from the military. He is currently in his 90's.
I am the 2nd owner. I found it in the old guy's backyard. It has been completely restored with a rebuilt engine. Currently it has only 826 miles on the rebuilt engine. My wife and I completed the interior/ exterior of the car using BUG ME videos and help for the local Vocational School Instructor and students.

I'm the 2nd owner of a Ruby Red 67 Bug with 85,000 miles. It only goes out a few times a year and I can't keep the people away from it! Still runs and looks like new. Never fails to start and rides and drives like a dream. Besides a tune up, tires, brakes and a few batteries over the 20 years that I've owned it, I haven't had to spend a dime on repairs. I've owned many classic cars over the years, but my 67 Beetle is by far my favorite!Jan 25, 2009

Vw type 1's 1967 and down are one of the most collected, recognizable and customizable cars ever made. They have THE most aftermarket accesories and are still somewhat easily found for very reasonable prices compared to all over cars. Easy to work on and VERY customizable. Fun little cars for anything from a cruiser, to a commuter, to a drag racer.Oct 09, 2008

fuck'n cool... :) vie kaiken "ylimääräisen" vapaa-ajan, melkeimpä jo ikuisuusprojekti.
Ollut omistuksessani puolitoista vuotta, josta palasina ympäri tallia yhden vuoden tarkoituksena rakentaa mahdollisimman alkuperäiseltä näyttävä sleepperi jolla kaikenmualiman bmw:t jää taakse.justjoo.. Ei ehkä niitä kaikkein yleisimpiä kuplan malleja.
Kone kasausvaiheessa; 2.1 'strokeri' megaruutalla, suorasytkällä ja ehkä jopa pikkupikku ahtimella... Aug 05, 2008

there in no other sound on earth that brings an instant smile to my face as the unique purr of a beetle! It is easy on gas, easy on the eyes and uber fun to drive. We never drove it over 45 mph so it should still be running on the original engine. Which was easy to care for and made sense. Loved the air cooled rear mounted set up!Jul 29, 2008

My first car. Ah, to be young and stupid. ;-)
Actually, I really liked this car. I just had some serious oil pump issues.... and was missing part of the floor on the passenger's side. The fact that it was older than me might have had something to do with its condition though. ;-)Jun 09, 2008

I have a pretty well fixed up VW bug, bigger engine, beefed trans and suspension. Paint is 70 Mustang "Grabber Blue" with chrome wheels and a nice loud exhaust. Gets looks everywhere I go.Jun 08, 2008

This was the height of quality for VW in the 60's. The 1967 model Typ 1 Beetle came with
the largest engine till that point a 1493 cc, 53 hp horizontally opposed air-cooled engine
mounted in the rear. It was the first year for 12 volt electrical system, upright headlights
with no outer cover. It was also the only year for the rear deck lid, bumper and back up
lights. The wheels, hubcaps, and emergency flashers systems were carry overs from the
previous 1966 model year.Apr 17, 2008

Very cool 1st car... lots of work to restore one, but worth it. Quick in a straight line (if you build a motor)- don't push it into corners too hard...Apr 02, 2008

The '67 for the fans of VW's is the Messiah of VW's, in my opinion. A perfect blend of the the pre-67 body styling and the 67 and newer abilities and engine, it is possibly the best of them all. In the VW family, you can find no other car with more one-year-only options and features. Built as a classic-styled car, it has both class and shine. Built as a hot-rod, it has endless potential. Drop a 356 motor in it and you end up with a machine that will outdo most of what is on the road today.Feb 09, 2008

Looked just like this little model!
Had a great time in it - but it seemed to always break down. No A/C in Houston was pretty tough too.Jan 07, 2008

This was my first car. While the performance wasn't so hot, this little car was, quite simply, amazing. This was one of the greatest cars I have ever owned. Started every time, never got hot, and took the abuse given to it teaching my little sister how to drive a stick shift!Jan 02, 2008
