I like everthing about this car; interior room and trunk space allow family and friends a fun day out; cooler, chairs, blankets and all.
The styling of a 66 GTO is iconic; it also has a comfortable smooth ride with great performance.
Having a convertible makes all the more fun and attracts lots of attention from people who really love classic cars.
This car is a solid #2 with an excellent paint job, interior, engine compartment and trunk.

Technically a Tempest, but it will be a GTO Tribute. Still Building it. Pulling the body off the frame soon. Drop a V8 in it, maybe a blower. Stick shift, probably 4 or 5. It will be worth the wait.Jun 19, 2010

Love the power, handles good for American made muscle car. Turns heads and demands respect.Came with adjustable suspension which was very rare for the time. Pre emission which was all power to the wheels without power stearing or brakes. Would be awsome with todays available add ons and radial tires, etc. Jan 22, 2010

4-6 mpg...top speed 135 on the speedometer....I've had it at 139. (those of you from Sylacauga, remember the on ramp to 280 N at 231? Started to climb the on ramp...hit 120 mph just after getting on the 4 lane. 4 lane incomplete to Auburn at that time) Appearance was classic, Purchased for $2,000 sold for $2,800. Fun to drive? No way to describe. 389 high performance 3 duce carb, positive traction, canary yellow..wide oval red lined tires.Dec 28, 2009

Great looking car. I bet it will be fin to drive. Can't wait to get it running. Well I will have to because of that ticket from the City of Los Angeles giving me 2 weeks. When you sit in the car there is something about it. Like it is meant to be enjoyed while driving.Sep 07, 2009

I bought this car for $30 and had to towed to my buddy Don's backyard where we got it running. Then on to my garage where it got a 65 Grand Prix tripower setup, rebuilt heads, new rings, Mallory dual-point ignition, headers, a TH350, slicks and ladder bars. The car turned a pretty respctable 105 mph 13.8 at National Speedway (see other pix).
After sitting for 30+ years, my friend Don (bless him, or curse him, I'm not sure yet) put the bug back in my ass to get the car back on the road. It needs some light cosmetics. The original interior looks great other than the chrome parts. I'm replacing the things that look bad. The original numbers-matching 389 is coming out, and I'm getting a .030 bored-over 400 built by Nunzi in Brooklyn, NY. It will get 6x heads, aluminum valves and bronze guides, a streetable cam, headers, and should put out about 420 HP on pump gas. Mar 06, 2009

I am honored and humbled to even have this car in my possession. Lost it in a bitter divorce 15 years ago, and reaquired it through an act of God. Literally. See above for standard spec type details. If you're are interested in the divine intervention, write me for the details....too long to list in this format....
This car is rock solid. I have picture history, and documentation back to 1976 through several owners. Three that I have personally met. This car is very fast and powerful. Former engine could actually pull the front end off the ground. This original one is a bit tamer, although no slouch. Could use disc brakes, more suspension work. Doors, glass, trim, interior is in excellent original condition. Outside has war scratches, but this is a driver. It is driven, and driven hard at times.
The fun and enjoyment of this car is second to none. To me, it is one of the greatest automotive designs, if not (I am biased!) the greatest auto designs ever made. John Delorean and Jim Wangers had their hands in bringing this to life!!! Coolness factor is 100%. Kids 8-80 absolutely love it!!!
You have to get used to starting, driving and stopping this machine...it has it's own way of doing things, and you adapt to it. I'm not kidding. It does not want to go slow!!!! I love the smell of it, the feel of it, and just sitting in it....it's a piece of automotive history, and as previously stated, it is a priveledge to own. Jan 30, 2009

This car turns heads all the time.
It performs really well on the track too, it's heaps of fun to drive and hard to beat.
Everyone is amazed at its performance and you can pick one up for under seventy.
I can't really say enough about it, just fantastic. If you see it you'll want it.Jul 23, 2008

Bought it from my work at Classic Car Care Detail shop in Scotts Valley. It had a 2 spd auto and a 400 from a 68 GTO. All the exterior trim parts were removed for body work. I drove it once in a while when I got back from college. Loved working on it and listening to oldies. Never got it done. by g-friend at the time was going to Europe after college graduation so I sold it to finance that trip. Still sorry sometimes that I did. Always will want to get another.Feb 01, 2008
