Its a spectacular head turner that's loads of fun, fast, and comfortable for a 50 year old car. I built it to drive from a very original well maintained rust free undamaged car and use it as a get around car and to take to the local show off galleries.Sep 27, 2014

I love my Fastback. She has been with me longer then anyone or anything in my life. She has never let me down or left me stranded.... I have owned many Mustangs and this one has always been my favorite..Sep 22, 2014

The only dislike was that there is no air conditioning, but the convertible takes care of the air. Excellent heating. There are no repairs other than ordinary oil changes, tire rotation and inflation. A carburator kit (gaskets, etc) was just put on the car 1 week ago. Cranks up and lets you go on a pleasure ride of your life. Sep 22, 2011

A fun classic car that looks great and provides many hours of fun either
driving or working on. I bought this car as a hobby car and one that I
would like to hand down to one of my grandchildren some day. Jan 24, 2011

Light and quick. It handles beyond my current abilities. This was the cheapest car available from Ford at the time. What a tough looking car, sporty and classic. Expensive to keep up, but well worth it when your behind the wheel.Jul 19, 2010

It's a classic, pretty much sums it up. Don't expect the performance from modern cars only the fun. It's old so things are likely to go wrong if you don't take care of it, but that is all part of the fun. Apr 27, 2010

My 1965 Ford Mustang handles well on turns. It's manual transmission with a hurst racing shifter, allowing for a quick shifting and a lot of speed. It has a 302 engine not standard 289. It's a lot of fun and it an eye-catcher.Nov 19, 2009

If I have to say what my likes or dislikes are of a 1965 Mustang, then I am in the wrong crowd of people. Any old car should be respected.
Take an old car, show it some TLC, and enjoy the ride for another 40 or more years!Oct 30, 2009

0-60 in 7s with the stock 3 speed auto, hits 65+ in 1st;
90+ in 2nd; no idea on the top end but it's above 100.
Theoretically .79 Gs cornering, solid feel, amazing throttle
response, needs minor bodywork on the rear fender,
styling is amazing, attention-grabbing, 12 mpg average
assuming odometer is right, parts are cheap because of
the popularity of the car, ridiculously fun to drive!Aug 12, 2009

The car pulls like a freight train , they dont build them like this anymore , who cares how much gas it uses when the fun factor outshines any other aspect of this fine automobile , you havent driven a car till you have driven a manual v8Jul 16, 2009

This car is very rare. It is a T-5, for those of you that don't know what that is, is it was a German Export model, sent over to Germany for the troops. Ford couldn't use the word Mustang because of a trucking company and Motorcycle company using the name, so they called it a T-5, which was part of the production number. The word Mustang is not anywhere on the car. Right now it is in the process of gettting the whole engine bay redone to looking like it just rolled off the assembly line. There are only 30 known left in the world.Feb 24, 2009

I have never owned this car,but I am hoping to someday. I am a huge mustang fan,and I would die to have this car. All of the new mustangs are great to,they always have been. But you can't beat 1965. Looks good, has power, and is a classic.Plus, you can find them for around 20,000-30,000 dollars, where a new shelby gt sells for around 50 grand.Oct 05, 2008

289 4 speed on the floor, 66k orig. miles, orig paint, body, interior, motor - GT package added from dealer. Documented From Ford -- 1st Production 65 Muctang w/ 289 + 4 speed combo in RANGOON RED.
Tons of power, all original and a rare example. 2180 lbs and (in 65) about 2200 dollars. Try buying a muscle car for a dollar a pound!!! Aug 08, 2008

This car is over 40 years old so there are some issues from time to time, but hey its a 1965 Ford Mustang and its way cool. So what if it has no a/c and no insolation in the fire wall and GA summers get over 100 degrees. So what if it handles like you are turning the wheel in slow motion. So what about all the issues related driving a 40+ year old car. I own a 1965 Ford Mustang and its worth every bit of it!Jul 30, 2008

it is actually '65 coupe that my dad made into a gt 350 race car. it has a 351 windsor that makes 400+hp @ 11:1 compression ratio. it has a full role cage with no interior. it also has a one off rear disc brake assembly that my dad built. He has gone over 160mph with it at Road America, In Elkhart Wisconsin.Jul 29, 2008

It doesnt have power steering which takes some
getting used to, the high performance 289 is an
amazing engine. I do all the work myself so the cost
isnt that high. It is an amazing car to drive.Jul 09, 2008

Amazing car. I put in a better sound system, but left the original radio in it. The new deck is in the glovebox. It has two 10"subs in it that are in the trunk. Runs somewhat rough but thats expected from a car that is 43 years old. Still has nice paint.Jun 07, 2008

This car is originally from California. No rust when bought and the paint and interior
came as is. However, the engine, transmission, brakes, and suspension had to be
rebuilt for safer driving. Total rebuild only took about 8 months. Most of the parts
are readily available through magazines. There good parts too (most of them). Its
only a 6cyl and a 3 speed manual, but its still a ton of fun to drive. Can still cruise
at 70-75 on the highway. This summer is going to be the first summer that I have it
and its going to be great. Cant wait! Apr 22, 2008

With some paint, some engine work, a new heater, all the rust patched and a new hubcap, this would be a show winner for sure. As it is, it's dangerously overpowered and uncomfortably underheated for winter driving. But sure is lots of fun squealing those rears.Jan 16, 2008

Being 42 years old, there is plenty of rust, and plenty of things that make it look like it's 42 years old. But its the fact that it's a 1965 Ford Mustang that keeps me going. The interior is awesome, except for the fact that there are no seatbelts in the back seat. Good pickup, nice handling, which is cool considering it's a rack and pinion (manual) steering. Jan 06, 2008

This car is in pieces all over the floor of our barn, so I can't really say anything about how it drives, but it is an automatic that will be taking on a V8 and is dark blue in color. And it's a fastback. What more can you ask for (besides a Shelby or a Boss)?Jan 04, 2008
