1964 Austin Mini Reviews, Pricing & Specs

Having just sold my Honda SS50 moped, that had nearly been the death of me ..... i was so glad that once i was 17, i could get a car. It only cost me 50 quid, from one of my Dad's colleagues wife. It had the dodgy hydrolastic suspension, that needed to be pumped up on one side at regular intervals, otherwise you drove around in a permanent state of 'crosswind' lean. I used it to pass my driving test, some 5 weeks after my birthday ..... and the look from the driving test examiner, was priceless, when i led him out to 'my car'. Upgraded soon after to the Allegro .... and sold it to James Leary, a fellow Austin Apprentice, who then raced it ..... and it ended up on its roof at Mallory Park circuit.May 29, 2008
