The performance of the gti is great power to weight ratio means that most cars of its class havn't got a chance. It is built very well and still goes strong at 200 000 miles. Good body work although suffers from unique rust patches on the lower part of all doors. Can be a bit pricey on the fuel consumption especially with todays prices of petrol in the uk. On a whole the golf mkiii is a great car to drive and own, full of fun and comfortabilty and holds its value too.
