Overall, owners of the Toyota Prius across all model years appreciate its outstanding fuel economy, reliability, and comfortable ride, making it a popular choice for those focused on efficiency and daily commuting. Many drivers highlight features such as cargo space and safety, which contribute to its practicality and value for money. However, some common complaints include a lack of power and acceleration, as well as concerns about the sound system and interior noise levels. While some find the driving experience less thrilling, the Prius remains a top choice for budget-conscious drivers seeking a dependable and economical vehicle.

I love it, the comfort, ride, visibility, and profile are amazing. Toyota is known for its dependability so that shouldnt be an issue.

Has the Toyota Prius, the iconic standard-bearer of hybrid cars, finally outlived its usefulness?
Decades ago, few cars were anywhere near as fuel efficient as the Toyota Prius. Today, the 2025 Prius remains a fuel economy champion, but numerous alternatives are close. Some even offer more interior room at a lower price. That reality, coupled with the cramped interior, limited trunk space, and general weirdness of the Prius, means hybrid car buyers have options.
Verdict: The point of the 2025 Toyota Prius is fuel economy, but our test car averaged 6.0 litres per 100 kilometres, falling significantly short of the Natural Resources Canada estimate of 4.8 L/100 km in combined driving. That certainly isn’t superior to roomier hybrid cars from Honda, Hyundai, or from within Toyota’s own lineup.
