The Toyota 4Runner's current nationwide average price is $46,212 CAD, and its lowest point over the past year was $46,212 CAD. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Toyota 4Runner a good car?

Yes — the Toyota 4Runner is a strong choice if you want a rugged SUV with lasting appeal and real capability. The all-generations owner rating is 4.64/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, off-road ability, and comfort, and they also value its spacious interior and robust performance. Across the model years, the 4Runner’s durable character and strong resale value come through as recurring strengths.

Expert reviews rate the 2025 and 2023 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs are fuel economy, road manners, and, in some years, limited rear-seat space and a slower-feeling on-road experience. Even so, the 4Runner’s blend of toughness, utility, and long-term appeal makes it a compelling used buy for the right shopper.

28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Toyota 4Runner models reliable?

• Owners rate the Toyota 4Runner between 4.17 and 5.0 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is generally tied more to age, mileage, and how the vehicle was maintained than to the model’s core reputation.
