Which Toyota 4Runner trim should I buy?

The 2026 Toyota 4Runner offers these trims:

• standard package: The entry model starts the lineup and gives you the new 4Runner formula at the lowest price point.
• TRD Sport: This trim adds a more street-focused setup within the gas-only lineup.
• TRD Off-Road Premium: This is the best-value trim for buyers who want serious trail hardware, including a locking rear differential, Bilstein remote-reservoir dampers, 18-inch wheels with 33-inch all-terrain tires, the Multi-Terrain System, and a Multi-Terrain Monitor.
• Limited: This seven-passenger trim adds a more upscale feel and a full-time 4WD system with a locking centre differential.
• Platinum: This hybrid trim adds a more luxurious presentation, with leather upholstery and full-time 4WD.
• TRD Pro: This off-road model adds disconnecting sway bars, unique front bumpers for a better approach angle, Fox adjustable remote-reservoir shocks, an aluminum front skid plate, and underbody protection for the transfer case and gas tank.

What Toyota 4Runner do most buyers choose?

The Toyota 4Runner years with the most listings are 2022, 2024, and 2020.

These higher-volume years tend to attract more shoppers because they offer a broad mix of pricing, equipment, and availability. When supply is deeper, you usually get more choice across trims and condition levels, which helps popular years stay at the top of the used market.

What is the Toyota 4Runner's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, which is good news if you are shopping used. The biggest drops are concentrated in the newer years, while the older years show smaller declines. That pattern suggests recent inventory has softened more quickly than the long-running older examples.

The 2025, 2016, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
