Yes — the Mazda MAZDA3 is a strong used-car choice if you want a compact car with style, a premium-leaning cabin, and an engaging driving experience. The all-generations owner rating is 4.6/5 across every model year in the data.

What should I look for when buying a used Mazda MAZDA3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: i-Activsense with forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, a driver condition monitor, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: an 8.8-inch infotainment display with a dial controller, plus a 10.25-inch touchscreen on higher-trimmed models with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: the Mazda3 sedan with the base engine is the most efficient version at 7.8 litres per 100 kilometres combined (8.8 city, 6.6 highway).

Which Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mazda MAZDA3 offers these trims:

• GX: The entry trim uses the 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine and gives you the Mazda3’s core style and driving character at the lowest price point.
• GS: This trim adds the option of all-wheel drive, making it the best-value choice if you want extra traction and broader all-weather versatility.
• GT: This trim adds the most upscale equipment in the range, including adaptive headlights, a head-up display, lane centring, a surround-view camera system, and reverse automatic braking; it also unlocks the Turbo engine and the 12-speaker Bose audio system.

What Mazda MAZDA3 do most buyers choose?

The Mazda MAZDA3 years with the most listings are 2018, 2024, and 2017.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you a wider selection of trims, body styles, and price points. They also make it easier to compare condition, equipment, and deal quality before you decide.

What is the Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

Most model years are down year over year, and several of the larger drops are in double digits. That pattern generally favours used buyers because it creates more room to find value in the market. A few newer years are declining more slowly than older ones, which suggests stronger pricing on the freshest examples.

The 2017, 2025, and 2020 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

• 2026: 6/10

• 2024: 9/10
