What should I look for when buying a used Lincoln Navigator?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Lincoln Co-Pilot360 with adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, lane-centring assistance, post-collision braking, intersection assist, evasive steering assist, Turn Signal View, and BlueCruise.
• Infotainment: Lincoln Digital Experience infotainment system with a 48-inch panoramic display and an 11.1-inch centre touchscreen control centre.
• Fuel efficiency: official Natural Resources Canada rating of 13.5 L/100 km in combined driving.

Which Lincoln Navigator trim should I buy?

The 2025 Lincoln Navigator offers these trims:

• Navigator Reserve: the base version, and the best-value starting point if you want the core Navigator experience with the new cabin design and major tech upgrades.
• Navigator L: the longer version, adding more cargo room behind all three rows for buyers who want maximum passenger-and-luggage flexibility.
• Black Label: the top trim, bringing the most upscale presentation and the Black Label interior themes.
• Black Label Special Edition Package: a blacked-out appearance package with blacked-out wheels and details for buyers who want a more distinctive look.

What Lincoln Navigator do most buyers choose?

The Lincoln Navigator years with the most listings are 2023, 2024, and 2022.

These higher-volume model years tend to be the most visible on the used market, which gives you more choice in trim, colour, and equipment. They also make it easier to compare asking prices and find a Navigator that fits your budget and feature priorities.

What is the Lincoln Navigator's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used and want stronger value. The biggest drops are in the newer years, while the older entries show smaller changes. That pattern suggests recent Navigators may offer the most noticeable price relief relative to what they cost a year ago.

The 2019, 2021, and 2020 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Lincoln Navigator safe?

• 2025: 10/10
• 2023: 8/10
• 2022: 8/10
• 2021: 8/10
• 2020: 9/10

Lincoln Co-Pilot360 is standard on the 2025 Navigator, bringing a broad suite of driver-assistance features along with BlueCruise 1.4.

For the safest used buy, the 2025 model posts the highest confirmed score of 10/10.

Should I buy a used Lincoln Navigator now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2024 model is at −18.42% versus a year ago, and the 2023 model is at −16.38%.
• Deal availability: The 2024 model has 25.8% good and great deals, and the 2023 model has 18.6%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2023 model has the most listings at a current average price of $70,857 CAD. The Lincoln Navigator offers a spacious, upscale cabin with a commanding road presence that suits family travel and long-distance comfort.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Lincoln continues to use a twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 engine in the 2025 Navigator. It makes 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque, bolts to a 10-speed automatic transmission, and has a towing capacity of up to 3,950 kilograms (8,700 pounds) with the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package and 22-inch wheels.
• Tech: For 2025, the Navigator adds the company’s Lincoln Digital Experience infotainment system with a 48-inch panoramic display and an 11.1-inch centre touchscreen control centre.
• Safety: In the 2025 Navigator, Lincoln uses BlueCruise 1.4, the latest version with driver-signaled automatic lane changes and in-lane repositioning to give large trucks travelling in an adjacent lane a little more room.
• Starting price: With a Canadian base price of nearly $130,000 (including the destination charge and other fees), the 2025 Lincoln Navigator is more expensive to start than the BMW X7, Cadillac Escalade, Infiniti QX80, Land Rover Defender 130, and Mercedes-Benz GLS.

If you're buying used today, the 2023 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
