|---|---|---|
| 2025 | $52,514 CAD | $51,752 CAD – $60,176 CAD |
| 2024 | $46,460 CAD | $46,460 CAD – $52,731 CAD |

| 2020 | $24,381 CAD | $24,366 CAD – $29,979 CAD |
The Kia Telluride's current nationwide average price is $38,383 CAD, and its lowest point over the past year was $37,911 CAD. Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.
Is the Kia Telluride a good car?
Yes — the Kia Telluride is a strong used buy if you want a roomy, well-equipped three-row SUV with broad owner appeal. The all-generations owner rating is 4.7/5 across every model year in the data.
Owners consistently praise the Telluride for its spacious cabin, comfortable ride, and strong value. They also highlight its upscale feel and the amount of technology and safety equipment it brings for the money.
Expert reviews rate the 2021 and 2023 models among the highest across all years.
The main trade-offs called out in expert testing are outdated technology, an irritating lane-assist system, and sticky brakes in thick traffic.
34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
Are Kia Telluride models reliable?
Owners and experts consistently point to the Telluride’s comfort, space, value, and safety equipment as major strengths. Across the model years, it has built a reputation for feeling premium and family-friendly while delivering a smooth, easygoing driving experience.
- Owners rate the Kia Telluride between 4 and 4.9 out of 5 stars across all model years in the data.
For used buyers, long-term ownership risk looks manageable, especially if you choose a well-kept example and verify that the vehicle’s features and service history match your needs.
What should I look for when buying a used Kia Telluride?
Key things to evaluate:
- Safety package: Highway Driving Assist pairs adaptive cruise control and lane-centring assist, and higher trim levels add lane-change assist.
- Infotainment: a 12.3-inch digital driver display paired with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system under a single piece of glass; a 10-inch head-up display complements them on Telluride SX Prestige, X-Line, or X-Pro.
- Fuel efficiency: It returned a respectable 11.6 litres per 100 kilometres over nearly 2,000 kilometres of driving. That fuel economy result aligns almost perfectly with the Natural Resources Canada rating of 11.7 L/100 km in combined driving.
Which Kia Telluride trim should I buy?
The 2025 Kia Telluride offers these trims:
- EX: The entry point, with standard AWD and the core Telluride design and family-hauling space; a smart starting point if you want the model’s essentials.
- SX: Adds a richer equipment mix and is a strong step up if you want more comfort and convenience features.
- SX Limited: Brings the most luxurious feel in the lineup, including chevron-pattern Nappa leather and an artificial suede headliner.
- X-Line: Adds increased ground clearance, improved approach and departure angles, a self-levelling rear suspension, blacked-out styling, and exclusive wheel designs.
- X-Pro: Adds 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires and increases towing capacity to 2,500 kilograms; best if you want the most off-pavement capability and towing strength.
What Kia Telluride do most buyers choose?
The Kia Telluride years with the most listings are 2023, 2024, and 2022.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 235 | 34% |
| 2024 | 196 | 37.2% |
| 2022 | 174 | 33.3% |
| 2021 | 134 | 30.6% |
| 2025 | 107 | 36.4% |
| 2020 | 88 | 33% |
These higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you more inventory to compare and more chances to find the right trim, colour, and price. They also sit in the part of the lineup where the Telluride’s core strengths are well established.
What is the Kia Telluride's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2022 | $35,219 CAD | −20.0% |
| 2020 | $24,381 CAD | −18.86% |
| 2021 | $29,468 CAD | −17.79% |
| 2023 | $41,359 CAD | −15.22% |
| 2024 | $46,460 CAD | −11.87% |
| 2025 | $52,514 CAD | −11.84% |
The table shows broad downward movement across the lineup, which can work in your favour as a used buyer. The newer model years are still changing by double digits, but the pace of change is a bit smaller at the top end of the range. That makes recent Tellurides especially worth watching if you want a newer SUV at a lower used price.
The 2025, 2024, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
Is the Kia Telluride safe?
- 2025: 8/10
- 2024: 8/10
- 2023: 9/10
- 2021: 9/10
For the 2025 model year, every Telluride trim level comes standard with Highway Driving Assist.
For the safest used buy, the 2021 and 2023 models both post the highest confirmed score of 9/10.
Should I buy a used Kia Telluride now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2025 model is at −11.84% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −11.87%.
- Deal availability: The 2025 model has 36.4% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 37.2%.
- Sweet-spot year: The 2023 model has the most listings at a current average price of $41,359 CAD. The Kia Telluride offers a roomy, upscale-feeling cabin that makes it especially appealing for family use.
Consider waiting if:
- Powertrain/efficiency: Every 2025 Telluride features a 3.8-litre V6 engine that generates 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, with power sent via an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard AWD.
- Tech: In all Canadian trims but the base EX, you’ll get a 12.3-inch digital driver display that lives next to a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system under a single piece of glass, and a 10-inch head-up display complements them when you get a Telluride SX Prestige, X-Line, or X-Pro.
- Safety: For the 2025 model year, every Telluride trim level comes standard with Highway Driving Assist, and on higher trim levels it adds a lane-change assist function.
- Starting price: You can drive home in a new Telluride EX for $53,840.
If you're buying used today, the 2023 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.

Love the look inside and out of the Telluride and all it to offer. The only thing that was holding me back from purchasing is the drive… I felt all the bumps in the road during the test drive. I personally like a more comfortable/cushiony ride.

Surprisingly, smooth ride, yet firm enough to not feel like a boat floating. Better ride than my Lincoln Aviator. Plenty of pick up but with smooth shifting. Plenty of seat adjustments to find the right spot. Im 57 155, 75 yo and a car fanatic. Its loaded with tech. But I love that. The drivers seat is a bit firm but comfortable and supportive. I researched for 6 months. I compared against all luxury midsize SUVs under 65k. Ive owned most all those luxury sports cars over the years. This is the best Ive ever owned. (Change the inside door handles, they dont fit my hand and are the only thing I can pick on that does not fit me perfectly). I love driving it, so well designed, fit and finish is excellent. Suggestion....add some real wood touches in future designes.

Kia Telluride test drive
overall

The 2025 Kia Telluride isn’t one of the newest three-row SUVs on the block, but it remains one of the best.
Nearly every mainstream car company offers at least one family-friendly, midsize three-row SUV. Kia has three, and the Telluride is the largest of its gas-powered models. (The electric-only EV9 is slightly larger). The Telluride debuted in 2020 to critical acclaim and commercial success. Since then, it has received several updates but not a redesign. We took a 2025 Kia Telluride on a nearly 2,000-kilometre family road trip and remain impressed with this stylish and capable Kia.
Verdict: Aging technology caused some irritation during a five-day road trip in the 2025 Kia Telluride. Otherwise, it was perfectly suited to long-distance travel whether rolling down a highway, roaming a major city, or romping down trails.
