What should I look for when buying a used Hyundai Tucson?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Hyundai SmartSense driver assistance features, including automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Which Hyundai Tucson trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Tucson offers these trims:

• Preferred: The entry trim brings a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, standard all-wheel drive, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This is the best-value starting point if you want the core Tucson experience with strong everyday equipment.
• Preferred with Trend package: This adds a power-adjustable driver’s seat, leatherette upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and two more USB ports for a more upscale cabin feel.
• N Line: This trim adds 19-inch alloy wheels, combination leather and cloth seats, ambient lighting, paddle shifters, aluminum pedals, and a Bose 8-speaker sound system for buyers who want a sportier look and richer audio.
• Luxury: This trim keeps the ambient lighting and Bose audio system and adds heated outboard rear seats, an auto-dimming rear view mirror, and rear occupant alert and parking warning features.
• Ultimate: The top trim adds ventilated front seats, genuine leather upholstery, memory settings for the driver’s seat, front parking distance warning, remote smart park assist, rear parking collision avoidance, highway drive assist, a surround-view camera, and a camera-based blind view monitor.

What Hyundai Tucson do most buyers choose?

The Hyundai Tucson years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2018.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which makes it easier to find the right trim, colour, and price. They also often sit in the sweet spot between newer features and broader used-market availability.

What is the Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

Most Tucson model years are down year over year, and several recent ones have posted double-digit declines. That pattern is good news if you’re shopping used, because it creates more room to find value in newer examples. One model year is essentially flat, while the rest of the lineup shows meaningful price softening.

The 2015 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2015, 2016, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
