What should I look for when buying a used Hyundai Kona?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane centring assist, high beam assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear occupant warning, and safe exit warning
• Infotainment: a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and BlueLink connected services

Which Hyundai Kona trim should I buy?

The 2026 Hyundai Kona offers these trims:

• Essential: The entry trim uses the 2.0-litre engine and CVT, and it suits you if you want the Kona’s core design and equipment at the most accessible price.
• Preferred: This trim adds adaptive cruise control and a system that can brake to avoid collisions when making a left turn across traffic or when an oncoming vehicle is headed straight for the Kona, making it the best-value choice for many buyers.
• N Line: The N Line brings the turbocharged 1.6-litre engine with 190 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque, an eight-speed automatic, standard AWD, and the available Ultimate package with a surround-view camera system, Remote Smart Parking Assist, Blind-View Monitor, reverse automatic braking, parking sensors, and Highway Driving Assist.

What Hyundai Kona do most buyers choose?

The Hyundai Kona years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be the most popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right colour, trim, and price. They also usually attract more shoppers because they sit close to the sweet spot between newer features and used-car value.

What is the Hyundai Kona's resale value?

The Kona’s used prices are down across every model year shown, which creates more room for value-minded shoppers. The biggest drops are in the double digits, so you can often find meaningful savings compared with last year’s pricing. The newer model years still command higher prices, but they are also seeing notable movement lower.

The 2021, 2024, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
