New Honda CR-V for Sale near Amaranth, ON

How much does the Honda CR-V cost in today's market?

Used Honda CR-V prices span a wide range depending on model year. Here's what the market looks like right now:

The Honda CR-V's current nationwide average price is $25,911 CAD, and its lowest point over the past year was $25,822 CAD. That narrow spread suggests prices have stayed fairly steady overall for this model.

Recently, prices have come down for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

Is the Honda CR-V a good car?

Yes — the Honda CR-V is a strong used SUV choice if you value comfort, space, and efficiency. The all-generations owner rating is 4.6/5 across every model year in the data.

Owners consistently praise the CR-V for its spacious cabin, excellent fuel economy, and strong safety features. Across the model years, the most common praise also centres on its practical, easy-to-live-with character and its comfortable ride.

Expert reviews rate the 2015 and 2019 models among the highest across all years.

The main trade-offs are the CVT’s droning under hard acceleration, conservative styling, and technology that can feel basic in some trims. Even so, the CR-V’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction make it an easy recommendation for many used buyers.

29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Are Honda CR-V models reliable?

Owners consistently describe the Honda CR-V as dependable, practical, and easy to live with. Expert commentary also reinforces its reputation for comfort, efficiency, and everyday usefulness.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is generally shaped more by trim level, mileage, and maintenance history than by the model’s overall reputation.

What should I look for when buying a used Honda CR-V?

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: For the 2023 model year, the CR-V gas-only models get the same turbocharged 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which carries over from the previous-generation CR-V. It generates power specs of 190 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 179 lb-ft of torque between 1,700 rpm and 5,000 rpm, which is plenty for a compact SUV. At least the transmission helps the CR-V to achieve impressive fuel economy numbers. Natural Resources Canada says our test vehicle should see fuel efficiency of 8.4 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and we averaged 8.1 L/100 km on a mountainous evaluation route.
• Infotainment: Every 2023 CR-V has a 7-inch digital instrumentation panel that is a model of clarity, fitting in with the rest of the SUV’s idiot-proof layout and controls. With most trims, it pairs with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that has large stereo volume and tuning knobs, clearly marked main function buttons, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Choose the CR-V EX-L, and Honda adds a larger 9-inch touchscreen display and an expanded list of features. Highlights include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless charging, and an upgraded eight-speaker sound system.

Which Honda CR-V trim should I buy?

The 2023 Honda CR-V offers these trims:

• LX-B: The entry trim starts with front-wheel drive and the core CR-V formula, making it the most accessible way into the redesigned model.
• Sport: This trim adds a step up in equipment and is the best-value choice for shoppers who want more features without moving to the top of the range.
• EX-L: This trim adds leather-wrapped seats, steering wheel, and shift knob, a larger touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a power rear liftgate, and front and rear parking sensors.
• Touring Hybrid: This top trim adds the hybrid powertrain, a Bose premium sound system, and a navigation system with real-time traffic.

What Honda CR-V do most buyers choose?

The Honda CR-V years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2022.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you a strong mix of newer features, broad availability, and enough supply to compare prices across many listings. That usually makes it easier to find a CR-V that fits your budget and equipment needs.

What is the Honda CR-V's resale value?

Most CR-V model years are down year over year, and several recent ones show double-digit declines. That pattern can work in your favour if you are shopping used, because it opens up more room to find newer examples at lower prices than they carried a year ago.

The 2015, 2014, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Honda CR-V safe?

Honda also includes blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, though a B series of trims has been added in Canada partway through the model year that omit these features due to the ongoing semiconductor shortage. New features include a seatbelt reminder system, rear-seat reminder system, driver monitoring system, and traffic sign recognition system.
• Starting price: Prices in Canada start at $34,240, not including $2,081 in fees.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
