What should I look for when buying a used Honda Accord?
Key things to evaluate:
- Safety package: Honda Sensing, including adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, traffic-jam assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
- Infotainment: a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, text-messaging support, HondaLink connected services, Wi-Fi access, and an SOS emergency call button.
- Fuel efficiency: According to Natural Resources Canada, the Accord EX should return 7.3 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving.
Which Honda Accord trim should I buy?
The 2023 Honda Accord offers these trims:
- EX: The base gas-only trim in Canada, with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, a 7-inch touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, cloth seats with contrast stitching, and Honda Sensing; this is the best-value choice if you want the lowest entry point into the redesigned Accord.
- Sport Hybrid: Adds hybrid power, quicker acceleration, upgraded fabric upholstery, and a better infotainment system, making it the best-value trim for buyers who want the strongest blend of efficiency and equipment.
- Touring Hybrid: The top hybrid trim, adding Google Built-in with integrated Google Assistant and Google Maps, along with the most advanced tech presentation in the range.
What Honda Accord do most buyers choose?
The Honda Accord years with the most listings are 2018, 2019, and 2017.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2018 | 208 | 27.9% |

| 2017 | 174 | 29.9% |
| 2020 | 150 | 31.3% |
| 2022 | 133 | 29.3% |
| 2021 | 132 | 34.8% |
Those higher-volume years tend to be popular because they sit in a sweet spot of age, price, and availability. You also get enough inventory to compare trims and conditions without moving into the oldest or newest ends of the market.

Should I buy a used Honda Accord now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:

Consider waiting if:
- Powertrain/efficiency: Honda equips the 2023 Accord EX with a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine making 192 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque, while the Sport Hybrid returns 5.3 L/100 km combined.
- Tech: The Accord EX includes a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HondaLink connected services, Wi-Fi access, and an SOS emergency call button.
- Safety: The latest Accord adds Honda Sensing with adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, traffic-jam assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
- Starting price: The 2023 Accord EX costs $37,000 CAD in Canada.
If you're buying used today, the 2018 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.

Reviewed a 2024 Honda Accord on May 11, 2026
My 2024 Honda Accord is a solid car that is reliable, efficient, comfortable, affordable, and easy to maintain. It has desirable features like blind spot detection, a moon roof, numerous air bags, heated seats, great gas mileage and various safety features. Plus it is a good looking sedan. This is my third Accord and I am very pleased with it. Please note our son is still driving my 2002 Accord with no major issues. If you are looking for a car that will be reliable, affordable, comfortable and last a long time the Honda Accord is a great choice.
