What should I look for when buying a used Genesis GV80?
Key things to evaluate:
- Safety package: Highway Drive Assist II, lane keeping assist, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, remote smart parking, a 360-degree camera system, and a blind view monitor.
- Infotainment: A clear, crisp 27-inch OLED screen housing both a digital gauge cluster and infotainment system, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
- Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada gives the 2025 Genesis GV80 with the four-cylinder engine a rating of 12.5 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 9.8 highway, and 11.3 combined. The six-cylinder engine rings in at 14.4 L/100 km city, 10.6 highway, and 12.7 combined.
Which Genesis GV80 trim should I buy?
The 2025 Genesis GV80 offers these trims:
- Advanced: The 2.5-litre engine and standard all-wheel drive make this the entry point, and it suits you if you want the GV80’s core luxury feel with the lower-priced powertrain.
- Advanced Technology Package: This is the best-value trim because it adds the larger engine option and more equipment while staying below the top trim.
- Prestige: This trim brings the larger twin-turbo six-cylinder engine and the most upscale presentation in the 2025 range.
What Genesis GV80 do most buyers choose?
The Genesis GV80 years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2022.

| 2026 | 47 | 19.1% |
| 2021 | 36 | 33.3% |

Should I buy a used Genesis GV80 now or wait for the next model?
Buy now if:
- Price trend: The 2025 model is at −16.88% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −13.3%.
- Deal availability: The 2025 model has 24.6% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 30%.

Consider waiting if:
- Powertrain/efficiency: Genesis kept the powertrain options the same for 2025. A 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine is standard fare on the GV80. This power plant puts out 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
- Tech: All trims of the GV80 get a clear, crisp 27-inch OLED screen housing both a digital gauge cluster and infotainment system, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both here.
- Safety: Genesis’s Highway Drive Assist II is standard, and it’s been updated with an attention monitor.
- Starting price: In Canada, the 2025 GV80 is available with the 2.5-litre engine in Advanced and Advanced Technology Package trims, and pricing ranges from $75,000 to $95,500 CAD.
If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.

This is an excellent car with a huge number of features. It rides extremely quiet with adequate power for almost all drivers. It’s worth the price and is on a level with Lexus RX.

Genesis GV80 test drive
overall

The stylish Genesis GV80 luxury SUV gets an update inside and out for the 2025 model year.
The Genesis GV80 was introduced in 2021 and has proved itself to be a strong contender as a luxury crossover. Although the powertrain remains the same for 2025, the mid-size SUV gets a redesign both inside and out, adding a bit more sophistication, two new exterior colours and some sumptuous interior materials. We’ll see a sporty GV80 Coupe with a supercharged engine later in 2025, but for now this traditional crossover is the company’s answer to luxury at an affordable price.
Verdict: Genesis improved the technology of the GV80 for 2025 by adding wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but the SUV returns poor fuel economy and the seats are far from comfortable. Still, the GV80 undercuts its European counterparts on price and definitely deserves a test drive.
