Is the Acura RDX a good car?

Yes — the Acura RDX is a strong used luxury SUV choice if you want comfort, performance, and everyday practicality in one package. The all-generations owner rating is 4.7/5 across every model year in the data.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk looks manageable if you choose a well-kept example and pay close attention to maintenance history and infotainment condition.

What should I look for when buying a used Acura RDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: The RDX’s official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy rating is 9.9 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving for the base trim and 10.3 L/100 km combined for the A-Spec trims.
• Infotainment: The infotainment system offers wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and Alexa Built-in, so you can use voice commands to avoid interacting with the TTI as much as possible.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is the name of the standard safety features package.

Which Acura RDX trim should I buy?

The 2025 Acura RDX offers these trims:

• RDX: The entry version includes the standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine, all-wheel drive, a panoramic glass sunroof, ambient lighting, quality interior materials, and AcuraWatch; it suits buyers who want the core RDX experience and strong value.
• A-Spec: This trim adds a sportier look with gloss black exterior accents and a finned rear diffuser panel, plus black upholstery as the default; it suits shoppers who want a more aggressive appearance.
• Platinum Elite A-Spec: This is the best-value trim if you want the richest equipment mix, adding full leather upholstery, a machined 20-inch wheel design, and the surround-view camera system.

What Acura RDX do most buyers choose?

The Acura RDX years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2020.

These higher-volume model years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim, colour, and price. They also often sit in a sweet spot between newer features and more accessible used pricing.

What is the Acura RDX's resale value?

Most Acura RDX model years are showing year-over-year price declines, which can work in your favour if you are shopping used. The drops are especially pronounced on several newer and older years, while a few model years are falling by smaller amounts.

The 2015, 2021, and 2022 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Acura RDX safe?

• 2025: 6/10
• 2023: 7/10
• 2022: 8/10
• 2021: 8/10
• 2020: 9/10

AcuraWatch is the standard safety package on the latest model, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.

For the safest used buy, the 2020 model posts the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Acura RDX now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −11.2% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −11.3%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 30.2% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 31.4%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $45,085 CAD. The Acura RDX offers a roomy cabin, strong everyday practicality, and a premium feel that make it easy to live with.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Under the RDX’s hood, a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine supplies a robust 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque.
• Tech: Fortunately, the infotainment system offers wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and Alexa Built-in.
• Safety: AcuraWatch is the name of the standard safety features package.
• Starting price: Prices range from $57,526 CAD to $66,356 CAD, including the $2,595 destination charge and other fees.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
