New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Traverse for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 15.27% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 138 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 7.3/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

It fits your needs well if you want a three-row crossover SUV that can stand in for both a minivan and a full-size body-on-frame SUV, with a pleasant ride and lots of safety equipment. The trade-offs are clear: it can’t tow as much as some larger rivals, it has similar space to a minivan but is less accessible, and the engine is described as gruff with mediocre power.

The market shows 35.5% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

The Traverse’s overall appeal is helped by its comfortable ride, standard all-wheel drive in Canada, and broad safety equipment. Its powertrain is described as adequate rather than strong, and the engine noise is a notable drawback.

The standard 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder is paired with an eight-speed automatic and delivers enough performance for everyday driving, but it is not especially refined. The expert assessment also notes that the vehicle’s size makes it somewhat cumbersome, even if it is still more controlled than a body-on-frame SUV.

Chevrolet includes standard active noise cancellation, but it does not seem especially effective. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Traverse’s size, engine character, and modest power may leave you less satisfied over time if you expect a more polished large SUV experience.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Traverse?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LT is well equipped with cloth upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone automatic climate control, and a hands-free power liftgate. The RS adds a six-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, a power tilt/telescoping steering column, driver’s seat memory, leather upholstery, and heated outboard second-row seats.
• Powertrain: Every Traverse uses a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and standard AWD in Canada. The engine is adequate, but it is described as gruff and not especially quick.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection and intersection assist, front and rear automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring with steering assist, side bicycle alert, GM’s Safety Alert Seat, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and rear parking sensors. The Enhanced Driving package adds Super Cruise, automatic parking, a driver attention monitor, and the Bose audio system, while the Driver Confidence package adds a surround-view camera system, rear pedestrian alert, traffic sign recognition, and a rear camera mirror.
• Infotainment: You get an 11-inch digital instrument cluster and a 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google Maps, a wireless phone charger, remote start, and eight years of OnStar Basics.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates it at 12.1 L/100 km in the city, 9.9 L/100 km on the highway, and 11.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 3 trim levels: LT, Z71, RS.

Here's the short version:

• LT: This is the best-value choice because it gives you the core Traverse strengths — lots of accessible space, excellent technology, and plenty of safety features — at the lowest starting price.
• Z71: Choose this if you want the off-road-oriented trim with red front tow hooks and knobby all-terrain tires, plus the more rugged look.
• RS: Pick this if you want the sportier appearance and the added comfort features, including leather upholstery, driver’s seat memory, and heated outboard second-row seats.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, and the available Super Cruise and Driver Confidence packages add even more capability if you want them.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 138 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.27% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $55,650 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $55,650 CAD sits slightly below last year's $65,682 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Traverse has become more attractive to buyers than it was a year ago. If you plan to sell later, you should expect a softer resale environment than last year’s market. For you as a used buyer, that can work in your favour now, but it also means future depreciation may remain a factor if demand stays price-sensitive.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse earned a Top Safety Pick from the insurance-industry-backed Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the top five-star overall rating from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment is extensive, including forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection and intersection assist, front and rear automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring with steering assist, side bicycle alert, GM’s Safety Alert Seat, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and rear parking sensors.

The available Super Cruise system is the standout feature. It can handle driving on mapped highways across North America, but you still need to stay attentive and be ready to take over when conditions overwhelm it. The Traverse also has one notable crash-test shortcoming: it missed Top Safety Pick+ because of an Acceptable result in the updated moderate front overlap test.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.27% compared with last year.
• It combines a spacious cabin, strong technology, and lots of safety equipment in a three-row crossover package.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $51,993 CAD, the 2025 costs less than the current year's $55,650 CAD average.
• It adds easier access to the Traverse’s towing capability and broad family-friendly appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the newer model-year pricing trend and strong safety and tech, the 2026 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2025 is the smarter value play.
