I fell in love with the VW beetle and this one is no different. So much fun to drive and be noticed in. Everyone sees you. Repairs are inexpensive, but parts are harder to find. A great winter car, it doesn't bog down in snow or pack it down enough to make ice.

This is the 6th bug I have owned. I love everything about this car. I love that its sitting up on 15's. I love driving it: the pickup, the sound, the smell. I love working on this car. I love the fact that I can still afford and get OEM parts for this car. I really love that I can get away from road bullying SUV's and ride tractor trailer tailwinds with this car. I love that this car is made of metal not plastic. I love that it is air-cooled and has the engine in the back. I love that I can still push this car off the road when I run out of gas! I started out using this car as a joy ride, but it soon became my daily driver. The is nothing like being behind the wheel of a genuine VW.

the Beetle were built as an economic option in there time. so they have very cheap parts, they have a simple but very rough construction, that makes them very reliable. they can be modified easily in many ways for off road, drag, or just to be a daily driver that turns heads. My personal opinion is that this is and has always been a great car. The super beetle has an upgraded suspension compared to the regular beetle and is a lot more comfortable and better handling. the comfort is not that great but remember is an very old model that comes from the 1930's technology so if you think about that is a pretty good automobile.

Performance - Wonderful for its age (36 years old) Build Quality - Excellent (VW Quality) Appearance - Superb, it has been very fashionable for over 60 years, and it still looks cool. Cost of Ownership - moderate Fun Factor - very funny car, it's really very cute

My project car for the last 2 years,I have fitted a 1600 twin port (std) apart from a sports exhaust system.with the valuable help of my son-in-law (Eric) we stripped the whole car down,cut out some rust areas along with turning it into a convertible. I have been a Vdub nut for over 40 years,I find them easy to work on and with contacts in various vdub clubs,parts are never a problem.I will update when she finally rolls out!
