What Volkswagen Jetta do most buyers choose?

The Volkswagen Jetta years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2020.

What is the Volkswagen Jetta's resale value?

Most Jetta model years are showing double-digit year-over-year price declines, which is good news if you are shopping used. The pattern points to broad softening across the lineup, with newer examples seeing especially noticeable drops. Should I buy a used Volkswagen Jetta now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −12.82% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −15.59%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 35.4% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 36.9%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $26,880 CAD. The Volkswagen Jetta offers a roomy and comfortable interior with a big trunk, which makes it an easy sedan to live with.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: One thing that hasn’t changed for 2025 is the Jetta’s turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine. It produces an unimpressive 158 horsepower but compensates with 184 pound-feet of sweet turbocharged torque at a low 1,750 rpm.
• Tech: With the 2025 Jetta, Volkswagen equips every trim level with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8-inch digital instrumentation panel, and the Comfortline upgrades to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Safety: Volkswagen equips every 2025 Jetta with IQ.Drive, and the standard blind-spot monitoring system includes active collision avoidance.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
