What Volkswagen Jetta do most buyers choose?

The Volkswagen Jetta years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2020.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right trim, colour, and price. They also often sit in the sweet spot between newer features and used-car affordability.

What is the Volkswagen Jetta's resale value?

Most Jetta model years in the table are down year over year, which can work in your favour if you’re shopping used. The larger drops are concentrated in the newer and mid-cycle years, while the older entries show smaller changes, suggesting steadier pricing at the lower end of the range.

The 2017, 2014, and 2015 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Should I buy a used Volkswagen Jetta now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −13.0% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −15.32%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 35.5% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 37.1%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $26,763 CAD. The Volkswagen Jetta offers roomy seating, a big trunk, and a practical, value-focused character that suits everyday driving.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: One thing that hasn’t changed for 2025 is the Jetta’s turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine. It produces an unimpressive 158 horsepower but compensates with 184 pound-feet of sweet turbocharged torque at a low 1,750 rpm.
• Tech: With the 2025 Jetta, Volkswagen equips every trim level with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8-inch digital instrumentation panel, and the Comfortline upgrades to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless smartphone charging, and a voice recognition system.
• Safety: Volkswagen equips every 2025 Jetta with IQ.Drive, and the standard blind-spot monitoring system includes active collision avoidance.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
