Should I buy a used Volkswagen Jetta now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −13.73% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −13.6%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 35.6% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 34.4%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $26,375 CAD. The Volkswagen Jetta offers a roomy and comfortable interior with a big trunk, which makes it easy to live with every day.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: One thing that hasn’t changed for 2025 is the Jetta’s turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine. It produces an unimpressive 158 horsepower but compensates with 184 pound-feet of sweet turbocharged torque at a low 1,750 rpm.
• Tech: All trims come standard with Bluetooth, wired versions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and access to Car-Net connected services. The Jetta Comfortline upgrades to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless smartphone charging, and a voice recognition system.
• Safety: Volkswagen equips every 2025 Jetta with IQ.Drive, which is the name for its collection of driver assistance systems and safety features.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
