Which Volkswagen Jetta trim should I buy?

The 2025 Volkswagen Jetta offers these trims:

• Trendline: The entry trim focuses on the essentials and suits you if you want the most affordable way into the refreshed Jetta.
• Comfortline: This trim adds the strongest value mix, and the available Sport package brings 18-inch alloy wheels, stainless steel pedals, an electronic differential lock, a heated wiper park, a wide sunroof, and a digital instrument cluster.
• Highline: This is the best-equipped standard Jetta trim, adding leather upholstery, ambient interior lighting, upgraded digital instrumentation, and additional comfort features.
• GLI: The performance-focused GLI stands apart as a separate Jetta model and suits you if you want the sportier side of the lineup.

What Volkswagen Jetta do most buyers choose?

The Volkswagen Jetta years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2020.

These higher-volume years tend to draw the most attention because they give you more inventory to compare, more pricing spread to work with, and a better chance of finding the right trim and condition.

What is the Volkswagen Jetta's resale value?

Most Jetta model years are showing clear year-over-year price declines, which can work in your favour if you’re shopping used. The newer years are seeing some of the largest drops, while the older end of the range is moving much less. That creates a useful spread for buyers who want to balance price with age and equipment.

The 2014 model year is holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2014, 2017, and 2015 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Should I buy a used Volkswagen Jetta now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −12.69% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −16.16%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 33.7% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 34.7%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $26,930 CAD. The Volkswagen Jetta offers a roomy cabin and a big trunk, which makes it easy to live with every day.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: One thing that hasn’t changed for 2025 is the Jetta’s turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine. It produces an unimpressive 158 horsepower but compensates with 184 pound-feet of sweet turbocharged torque at a low 1,750 rpm.
• Tech: With the 2025 Jetta, Volkswagen equips every trim level with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8-inch digital instrumentation panel.
• Safety: Volkswagen equips every 2025 Jetta with IQ.Drive, which is the name for its collection of driver assistance systems and safety features.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
