It is the best-value choice if you want the Golf R’s main performance and tech features without stepping up to the appearance-focused special edition.

What Volkswagen Golf R do most buyers choose?

The Volkswagen Golf R years with the most listings are 2025, 2024, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you more inventory to compare, which can make it easier to find the right colour, mileage, and condition. They also tend to attract shoppers who want newer features and a broader selection of listings.

What is the Volkswagen Golf R's resale value?

Most model years in the table are down year over year, and several of the declines are sizeable. That creates a more favourable setup for used buyers, especially if you are shopping recent model years and want to avoid paying peak pricing. The smallest changes are clustered in the middle of the range, which suggests some versions are softening more slowly than others.

The 2023, 2019, and 2022 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
