What should I look for when buying a used Porsche Cayenne?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: parking sensors, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and InnoDrive.
• Infotainment: Porsche Communication Management with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 12.6-inch digital gauge cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: 15.3 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 11.2 on the highway, and 13.5 combined.

Which Porsche Cayenne trim should I buy?

The 2025 Porsche Cayenne offers these trims:

• Cayenne: The base model gives you the Cayenne’s core performance and premium character, and it suits buyers who want the model’s driving feel with a more accessible starting point.
• Cayenne GTS: This trim adds a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, 21-inch wheels, high-gloss black trim, tinted headlights, and a more aggressive front fascia; it’s the best-value pick if you want the Cayenne’s sporty personality in a well-rounded package.
• Cayenne S: This version steps up to a V8 with 468 hp and suits shoppers who want a stronger performance jump without going all the way to the top end.
• Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid: The range-topping trim brings the most extreme performance focus in the lineup, with special exterior touches that set it apart.

What Porsche Cayenne do most buyers choose?

The Porsche Cayenne years with the most listings are 2022, 2020, and 2023.

These higher-volume years tend to attract more shoppers because they offer a strong mix of availability, pricing, and newer features. They also give you more choice within the model range, which can make it easier to find the right trim and condition.

What is the Porsche Cayenne's resale value?

Most model years are down year over year, which creates more room for used buyers to find value. The largest drops are concentrated in recent and mid-cycle years, while a few older examples are moving only slightly. That pattern gives you a broad spread of pricing across the lineup.

The 2015 and 2025 model years are holding steady, with prices close to flat year-over-year.

The 2025, 2015, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

• 2025: 7/10

For the safest used buy, the 2025 model posts the highest confirmed score of 7/10.

Should I buy a used Porsche Cayenne now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2024 model is at −17.48% versus a year ago, and the 2023 model is at −21.35%.
• Deal availability: The 2024 model has 33% good and great deals, and the 2023 model has 37.9%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2022 model has the most listings at a current average price of $65,768 CAD. The Porsche Cayenne offers a sporty driving character, a refined cabin, and the kind of premium road presence that has defined the model for years.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Porsche will sell you a Cayenne with a few different engines, but they are all able to hustle over back roads with the best of them. The base 3.0-litre V6 is good for 348 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque, while the Cayenne S with its V8 produces 468 hp.
• Tech: The curved 12.6-inch digital gauge cluster is standard, and the 12.3-inch touchscreen display running Porsche Communication Management includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Safety: Porsche’s advanced adaptive cruise control system called InnoDrive looks ahead roughly 3 kilometres to prepare for traffic incidents.
• Starting price: The base 2025 Porsche Cayenne starts in Canada at $99,235 including delivery charges and other fees.

If you're buying used today, the 2022 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
