4.3 Overall rating
(46 reviews)Customers say
The Porsche 924 has earned a solid reputation among owners for its exceptional handling and enjoyable driving experience, especially on winding roads. Many appreciate its reliability and the value it retains over time, while some wish for more power and express concerns about maintenance costs. Fuel economy has received mixed reviews, as it is seen as average for a 4-cylinder. Overall, it's a fun-to-drive sportscar that offers a unique charm, despite some electrical issues reported by a few drivers.

What people say
Great handling and braking. Acceleration was so-so. Great styling. Great fun to drive. I was thinking of possibly getting a sports car in 1977 and drove this to compare with the Datsun Z. Compared to the 924, the Z drove like a Buick!
Bought this 4 years ago and it is the only car I've ever owned that is both paid for and increasing in value.
Well - if you know where the 924 came from, you'll understand the summary. It was designed for VW (sister company of Audi & Porsche) and they turned it down. So Porsche kept it, along with the VW-quality interior, etc. Engine wasn't really big enough, but as long as you didn't TRY to race someone, no one would believe you that it was really an under-powered, good looking machine. I can't remember how many times guys would ask me "So is it pretty fast?" and I'd just look at them, shake my head and say (honestly) "No, not really." They'd always laught and say "Right!" LOL Mine was a bright, beautiful yellow. Sold that one to buy my condo. *sigh*
The 924 has always been laughed at, and I really don't understand why. It's a lovely little car, a true sportscar and it's fun to drive it - especially on small country roads.
Not a rocket, but is glued to the road around corners. Had been sitting for a few years before i bought it so there was some rubber deteriation on the engine, as well as the fuel injection system was out of tune. Sounded cool, the previous owner put a stainless cat back made by dansk. Top speed was around 125. Was extremely fun to drive.
