The Nissan X-Trail has garnered positive feedback from owners across various model years for its solid performance, versatility, and comfort, making it a reliable choice for families and those looking for light off-roading capabilities. Many drivers appreciate its spacious interior, build quality, and fuel efficiency. However, some have noted concerns regarding fuel consumption, heating issues, and overall performance in severe winter conditions. While it excels in handling and is popular for its cargo space and engine reliability, a few drivers have mentioned that it can lack excitement in driving experience.

This car has been in my possesion for a month now. My review so far is: Performance - It certainly accelerates better than my corolla. Both of my cars are manual so you can understand my joy at finding that this vehicle has almost no stalling between changing gears. Its braking however, is average, my corolla when new was more efficient but perhaps this is because its a faster car. Along curvy roads its handling makes me a bit nervous especially at high speed, but I'll only conclude this in two weeks when I travel to and from Mufulira (a total distance of 800km to and from). Build Quality - Note that this is a second hand car. As soon as it arrived it needed repairs. We had to replace bearings and carry out the normal servicing. Since then there haven't been any problems. Appearance - It an attractive car, silver well metallic gray is probably more accurate. Once I've posted the pics you can make up your mind. The interior is something I like as well. None of the leather or wood finishes that more expensive cars have. Its elegant, roomy and with a neatness that pleases. I'm still getting used to the display being in the middle rather than right in front of the driver. What's with that? Oh and no lighter and ashtray. Discouraging smokers? Cost of ownership - From an economic point of view, the car seems to favour the long distance traveller rather than the utility in town guy. Difficult to estimate the gas mileage, but it is more expensive than my toyota. In a week I spend about $25 in my Toyota and $40 in my Nissan. in maintenance terms the Nissan is still more expensive than the Toyota. CFAO the distributors of Nissan in Zambia charge about K 2,800,000 ($549) for a routine service, while Toyota Zambia charge up to K 2,000,000 ($392). Fun Factor - Fun!!!
I got a used Nissan X-Trail top spec as a replacement car. Although I'm not into 4x4's and especially not SUV's (actually I hate them), I was very surprised with this car. Being a Nissan, I had to test it offroad, and it passed several test opportunities with grand distinction. Incredible. The weak factor was the driver here. I took it up to the motorcross circuit and I drove over slopes too steep to walk up. The Nissan took it for breakfast. And all that without low gearing or mud tyres. Incredible. I love it.
The turbo supplies lots of torque. The quality of the vehicle is excellent. The appearance is stylish in comparison with other SUV's. It is a very fun vehicle to drive and I would recommend it to any family man who enjoy the outdoors.
It's solid and durable with a city feel. The compact SUV with alot to offer. Very strong engine and very reliable.
one of the best selling cars nissan has ever produced won the suv of the year award for 2006 despite having really strong competitors in the industry. its solid built. its easy to drive. maintaining it doesnt really burn a hole in your pocket. a very versatile and one of the most agile suvs in the current market. superb traction, handling and braking. feels like driving a normal car. AWD 4WD features works awesome. i had much fun with this car on the beach. eheheheh even a 2.0 QR20DE with CVTC variable valve timing, it's major advantage lies in it's CVT built gearbox. unlike regular gearboxes out there, it doesnt have a set of different gear ratios. it only as 2 pulleys which acts as an infinite ratio, a variable transmission. with such efficiency makes this car has the capability to speed even at low revs, thus making it a much lesser fuel consuming vehicle
