Welcome to my 1989 Nissan 200sx (also known as the 180sx in japan). It has a 1.8l turbo 16 valve engine which produces 171 bhp (CA18DET). Here are some figures: 0-60 in 7.0 seconds and 400m drag race in 14.2 (measured). It isn't stock anymore and produces around 280 bhp (not measured yet) thanks to new 444cc injectors form the R34 skyline, a walbro fuel pump (255l/h), a MAF from a 200sx s14, a GT28R turbocharger, full engineback exhaust system, a FMIC, a dump valve, a cold air intake and more. The chassis as well has been reviewed in order to make this a track car.

Mine was an '83 hatchback in two tone blue with an automatic transmission. It was a smooth running great riding & driving car that attracted lots of attention. It never gave me any trouble other than a sticky starter solenoid. It had a cool feature for the time, verbal warnings in a pleasant female voice. She would warn you when you were low on fuel, lights were left on along with numerous other messages. This was sort of a personal luxury sporty car with a strong running 2.2 liter engine with Nissan's trademark (at the time) 8 spark-plugs (2 for each cylinder). This was meant to provide a cleaner running engine and was said to bump up the power in the process by burning more of the air fuel mixture instead of it blowing out the exhaust un-ignited. I loved this car and sold it to get out of the payments because I was getting married which coincidentally ended in divorce. I don't miss the woman but I truly miss this car and would love to own another one if I can find a nice survivor some day.

i have had my 200sx for two years and i love it. the gas milage is unbeatable! its pretty quick for the 1.6 liter but has a small clutch making it wear down quickly. its a blast to drive. power windows with a sunroof that hides inside the roof. the build quality is not top notch, but it is a 97 after all. cost of ownership is little to nothing.

performance- as a standard car it was pretty sedate... on par with a modern hot hatch.. but after a few modifications she's a little more alive, increase in boost, increased breathing and fuel supply and she now accelerates at a more lively pace. brakes are standard and quite frankly shocking. but perhaps time for some new fluid :P handling is a bit on the wallowing barge side of the scale, but with uprated shocks/springs the ride is better, but looking to replace and upgrade to the worn bushes and anti roll bars, then she'd be on rails. build quality- the build quality is good, still no rattles or nasty squeaks to speak of, and nothings fallen off. although it is an older car, which means it doesn't have the protection of moder cars, so it doesn't feel 'solid' appearance- love it, was part of the reasons i fell in love with the car... the only thing that i have to complain abut is the rear lights.... not good cost of ownership- car was cheap enough to buy given the package that comes with it. mielage isnt particularly brilliant, about 300-350 miles to a full tank, though i do have a lead foot from time to time, but a remap to include all the mods would improve this again. parts are cheap enough and easily available with a huge aftermarket scene given the cars use in motorsport, primarily drifting. fun factor- 10/10...
