What should I look for when buying a used Mercedes-Benz CLA?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: the 2026 CLA includes a class-exclusive centre airbag, plus adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring with exit assist, emergency braking, and traffic sign recognition.
• Infotainment: the 2026 CLA features a 10.25-inch driver display, a 14-inch centre display, the fourth-generation Mercedes MBUX infotainment system, MB.OS, augmented-reality navigation, and standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Which Mercedes-Benz CLA trim should I buy?

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA offers these trims:

• CLA 250+: the single-motor rear-wheel drive version delivers 268 hp, 247 lb-ft of torque, and an 85-kWh battery, making it the best-value choice if you want the entry point into the new electric CLA with the core luxury and tech experience.
• CLA 350 4Matic: the dual-motor all-wheel drive version adds 349 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque, plus quicker acceleration, for buyers who want the stronger performance option.

What Mercedes-Benz CLA do most buyers choose?

The Mercedes-Benz CLA years with the most listings are 2025, 2026, and 2024.

These higher-volume years tend to be the easiest places to shop because you get more inventory to compare and a better chance of finding the right colour, mileage, and equipment mix. They also tend to attract more attention from shoppers, which helps explain why they remain popular used picks.

What is the Mercedes-Benz CLA's resale value?

Most CLA model years are down year over year, and several recent examples show especially sharp drops. That creates more room for used buyers to find value, particularly in newer model years where the price declines are still substantial. One model year is moving up, which shows that not every CLA is following the same pattern.

The 2021, 2022, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Mercedes-Benz CLA safe?

• 2026: 8/10

The CLA gets a class-exclusive centre airbag that comes standard on every CLA model.

For the safest used buy, the 2026 model posts the highest confirmed score of 8/10.

Should I buy a used Mercedes-Benz CLA now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −23.26% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −28.68%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 35.7% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 39.7%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2025 model has the most listings at a current average price of $42,219 CAD. The Mercedes-Benz CLA offers a premium cabin with a stylish, upscale character that makes it feel more expensive than its size suggests.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: the latest CLA pairs a single-motor 250+ with 268 hp, 247 lb-ft of torque, and an 85-kWh battery, while the dual-motor CLA 350 4Matic brings 349 horsepower, 380 pound-feet of torque, and a 10-percent to 80-percent charge time of 22 minutes.
• Tech: the latest CLA adds a 10.25-inch driver display, a 14-inch centre display, MB.OS, augmented-reality navigation, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Safety: the latest CLA adds a class-exclusive centre airbag, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring with exit assist, emergency braking, and traffic sign recognition.
• Starting price: Mercedes expects the electric CLA to start right around $60,000 CAD.

If you're buying used today, the 2025 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
