What should I look for when buying a used Kia Telluride?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: Highway Driving Assist pairs adaptive cruise control and lane-centring assist, and higher trim levels add lane-change assist.
• Infotainment: a 12.3-inch digital driver display paired with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system under a single piece of glass; a 10-inch head-up display complements them on Telluride SX Prestige, X-Line, or X-Pro.
• Fuel efficiency: It returned a respectable 11.6 litres per 100 kilometres over nearly 2,000 kilometres of driving. That fuel economy result aligns almost perfectly with the Natural Resources Canada rating of 11.7 L/100 km in combined driving.

Which Kia Telluride trim should I buy?

The 2025 Kia Telluride offers these trims:

• EX: The entry point, with standard AWD and the core Telluride design and family-hauling space; a smart starting point if you want the model’s essentials.
• SX: Adds a richer equipment mix and is a strong step up if you want more comfort and convenience features.
• SX Limited: Brings the most luxurious feel in the lineup, including chevron-pattern Nappa leather and an artificial suede headliner.
• X-Line: Adds increased ground clearance, improved approach and departure angles, a self-levelling rear suspension, blacked-out styling, and exclusive wheel designs.
• X-Pro: Adds 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires and increases towing capacity to 2,500 kilograms; best if you want the most off-pavement capability and towing strength.

What Kia Telluride do most buyers choose?

The Kia Telluride years with the most listings are 2023, 2024, and 2022.

These higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you more inventory to compare and more chances to find the right trim, colour, and price. They also sit in the part of the lineup where the Telluride’s core strengths are well established.

What is the Kia Telluride's resale value?

The table shows broad downward movement across the lineup, which can work in your favour as a used buyer. The newer model years are still changing by double digits, but the pace of change is a bit smaller at the top end of the range. That makes recent Tellurides especially worth watching if you want a newer SUV at a lower used price.

The 2025, 2024, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Kia Telluride safe?

• 2025: 8/10
• 2024: 8/10
• 2023: 9/10
• 2021: 9/10

For the 2025 model year, every Telluride trim level comes standard with Highway Driving Assist.

For the safest used buy, the 2021 and 2023 models both post the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Kia Telluride now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −11.84% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −11.87%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 36.4% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 37.2%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2023 model has the most listings at a current average price of $41,359 CAD. The Kia Telluride offers a roomy, upscale-feeling cabin that makes it especially appealing for family use.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Every 2025 Telluride features a 3.8-litre V6 engine that generates 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, with power sent via an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard AWD.
• Tech: In all Canadian trims but the base EX, you’ll get a 12.3-inch digital driver display that lives next to a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system under a single piece of glass, and a 10-inch head-up display complements them when you get a Telluride SX Prestige, X-Line, or X-Pro.
• Safety: For the 2025 model year, every Telluride trim level comes standard with Highway Driving Assist, and on higher trim levels it adds a lane-change assist function.
• Starting price: You can drive home in a new Telluride EX for $53,840.

If you're buying used today, the 2023 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
