What should I look for when buying a used Kia Telluride?

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: The 2025 Telluride returned 11.6 litres per 100 kilometres over nearly 2,000 kilometres of driving, and that result aligns almost perfectly with the Natural Resources Canada rating of 11.7 L/100 km in combined driving.
• Infotainment: In all Canadian trims but the base EX, you’ll get a 12.3-inch digital driver display that lives next to a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system under a single piece of glass.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, intersection assistance when turning left across traffic, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centring assist, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, rear occupant alert, and safe exit assist.
• Safety package: For the 2025 model year, every Telluride trim level comes standard with Highway Driving Assist.

Which Kia Telluride trim should I buy?

The 2025 Kia Telluride offers these trims:

• EX: The entry point brings standard AWD and the Telluride’s core family-hauling character at the lowest price in the 2025 range.
• SX: This trim adds more upscale equipment and is a strong step up if you want a richer feature set without going all the way to the top.
• SX Limited: This is the best-value trim if you want the most luxurious feel, including the available black-over-Terracotta interior, simulated wood trim, metallic accents, chevron-pattern Nappa leather, and an artificial suede headliner.
• X-Line: This trim adds increased ground clearance, improved approach and departure angles, a self-levelling rear suspension, a blacked-out look, and exclusive wheel designs.
• X-Pro: This trim adds 18-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires and increases towing capacity to 2,500 kilograms (5,500 pounds), making it the pick for buyers who want the most capability.

What Kia Telluride do most buyers choose?

The Kia Telluride years with the most listings are 2023, 2024, and 2022.

These higher-volume years tend to be the easiest places to shop because you get more inventory to compare, which can improve your chances of finding the right trim, colour, and price. They also tend to be the years most shoppers cross-shop first, since they balance newer features with broader availability.

What is the Kia Telluride's resale value?

The table shows broad downward movement across every model year, which is good news if you are shopping used. The newer model years are still falling, but their year-over-year changes are smaller than the older ones, which suggests they are retaining value a bit better right now. Even so, the declines remain double-digit across the board.

The 2025, 2024, and 2023 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Kia Telluride safe?

• 2025: 8/10
• 2024: 8/10
• 2023: 9/10
• 2021: 9/10

For the safest used buy, the 2021 and 2023 models both post the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Kia Telluride now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −10.96% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −11.61%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 33.3% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 32.7%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2023 model has the most listings at a current average price of $40,839 CAD. The Kia Telluride offers a roomy, premium-feeling cabin that makes it especially appealing for family use.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Every 2025 Telluride features a 3.8-litre V6 engine that generates 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, with power sent via an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard AWD.
• Tech: In all Canadian trims but the base EX, you’ll get a 12.3-inch digital driver display that lives next to a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system under a single piece of glass.
• Safety: For the 2025 model year, every Telluride trim level comes standard with Highway Driving Assist.
• Starting price: You can drive home in a new Telluride EX for $53,840.

If you're buying used today, the 2023 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
