Yes — the Kia Sportage is a strong used SUV choice if you value comfort, space, and a well-equipped cabin. The all-generations owner rating is 4.5/5 across every model year in the data.

What should I look for when buying a used Kia Sportage?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, lane following assist, Highway Driving Assist, a surround-view camera system, and the blind-spot view monitor.
• Infotainment: a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus SiriusXM satellite radio.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada fuel economy ratings for the non-hybrid Sportage are 8.3 litres per 100 kilometres combined (9.3 city, 7.0 highway) with FWD and 8.9 L/100 km combined (9.9 city, 7.8 highway) with AWD. The other powertrain options are more efficient: the Sportage Hybrid is rated at 6.7 L/100 km combined, and the plug-in hybrid gets up to 53 kilometres of all-electric driving.

Which Kia Sportage trim should I buy?

The 2026 Kia Sportage offers these trims:

• LX: the entry point with the 2.5-litre engine, six-speed automatic, and standard 12.3-inch touchscreen; a good fit if you want the core Sportage experience at the lowest price.
• LX AWD: adds all-wheel drive for extra traction and year-round confidence.
• X-Line: adds off-road appearance touches, different front and rear bumpers, tread-like SynTex stitching, and all-season tires on 19-inch wheels.
• EX: adds more equipment as you move up the range and is a sensible step if you want a richer feature set.
• EX Premium: adds 19-inch wheels and sits in the value sweet spot for shoppers who want more style and equipment.

What Kia Sportage do most buyers choose?

The Kia Sportage years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2025.

These higher-volume years tend to attract more shoppers because they offer a strong mix of availability, newer features, and a wide range of prices. More listings also give you a better chance of finding the colour, trim, and equipment combination you want.

What is the Kia Sportage's resale value?

Most Sportage model years are down year over year, which can work in your favour if you’re shopping used. The largest drops are concentrated in older and mid-cycle years, while the newest models are also easing from their prior-year prices. That creates a broad spread of value across the lineup rather than a single clear outlier.

The 2014, 2016, and 2025 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Kia Sportage safe?

The 2026 Sportage includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and lane following assist.
