Not the most sophisticated car, but comfy and dependable. Cheap as a 4 cylinder to run on gas too. Holden 308 never the most powerful engine for a full 5 litres, but punchy enough. Does all it’s work in the bottom 3500rpm – going over that is just a waste of fuel. LPG takes a BIG cut of power, but torque remains strong. Could pull out a tree stump. Ride is smooth over good surfaces, but it doesn’t deal with pot-holes and bumps any better than any other car fitted with a live rear-axle. The benefits are surprisingly good handling characteristics, especially for a car weighing 1.8 tonnes. Exterior dimensions are huge for anything except a Yank Tank – you could park a Yaris on it’s bonnet. Or put it in the boot! Will seat 5 adults in comfort and leave you feeling fresh after a long trip. Possibly the comfiest rear seats in the world. Never misses a beat, never lets me down. Second one I’ve owned and they have both been fabulous. Want something to survive a nuclear air-strike? Look no further.

OK here is my 1992 VQ Caprice Starting with a luxury model makes the job even easier!!! The statesmans look great, but the Caprice just adds style. This particular model rolled off Fishermans Bend in 1992. Dressed in blue over silver, the paint looks stunning. No aftermarket bodykit has been fitted here, just the pure classy style of the factory caprice kit is all that is needed. Bringing it down closer to mother earth comes courtesy of lowered springs, slamming the body over the 18inch RJR Torque wheels. Putting out power comes courtesy of the venerable Holden 5 litre. Modifications to the motor so far include a 70mm throttle body and Cold air induction to help the beast ingest more air and crow cam and ECU on the way. After the combustion process takes place, exhaust gases exit via Pacemaker Headers, and a dual 2 1/2inch system takes it all the way to the rear. Power is estimated to be around 215hp at the wheels, meaning this Caprice is no slug at all!!! The rest of the drivetrain is stock at the present time, but for a daily driver who needs much more really??? Getting into the comfort zone is where this beauty really pleases. Sliding into the comfortable Leather Caprice seats feels like heaven everytime. Woodgrain surrounds your in luxurious bliss. Aural sounds come via an Alpine stereo system, the v8 burble

Couldnt get a more classic aussie car for the era. Its got so much room and plenty of style lol. Was goin great til some stupid woman ran up the back of it. Had the 308, turbo 400 and twin 2 1/2" exhausts. It got a fair bit of attention.

I affectionately used to refer to this car as " the green sponge"...it took all our money, soaked it up and never seemed to show it. There was always something else to do...maybe the mechanic was to blame..lol

my baby took 3 years to finish but 4 years to make it on the road.. in the end i had to take over the family car so it could see the road and if i had to do it again i would.. the only thing that i would change is more power!!
