The Ford Mustang II, spanning from 1974 to 1978, is often praised for its distinctive styling, fun driving experience, and good fuel economy. Owners love the available power options, particularly with the V8 engine, which enhances performance. Many appreciate its head-turning looks, while others express concerns about reliability, including parts availability and some performance limitations with certain models. Overall, it strikes a balance between a compact size and spirited driving, although some drivers find it lacking in power and interior space.

Although it is very hard to find parts for this car anymore, it is very fun to drive. Performance is great, it does 11.7 sec. on a quarter mile strip, and that is WITH nos, without is about 14.3 sec.
Amazing car, mustang ii front ends were ahead of their time and the car has decent handling and is quite quick do to them weighing in at about 3000lbs, fun car to drive and to go cruising in. No matter what other people may think this is the last of the ponys to have the same attributes as the original mustang.
It was a good first car. Looked good, sounded good, and was semi fast. Perfect for a teenager. Only got maybe 13mpg out of it and had its rattles but it was a great car. I do miss it. By now it would be sub 10s(wishful thinking).
They run great, the emission controls sucks. The are build solid. This car hardly had any rust. It got great gas mileage out of the 2.8 liter (17 in town, 21 on the highway), they are not the easiest to find parts for. The best part about the car is the feel and drive. There is almost any road noise and it rides incredibly comfortable. They are pretty peppy, but geared for the highway.
Everything on the mustang is down sized. The point was to make it more fuel efficient. The 140 CID has only 88 horsepower and 80 ft/lb torque. The downsized body, in my opinion is a good thing. Lighter, and easy to handle. THe interior is a bit cramped in the back, but the front is spectacular. With a nice paint job and nice rims, the car is a show stopper.
