The 2020 Ford EcoSport is a great compact SUV with excellent fuel efficiency, easy handling, and a comfortable ride for daily driving. It’s a good value for anyone looking for an affordable, reliable small SUV with modern features. The interior space is surprisingly practical for its size, and the technology is user-friendly. It’s not the most powerful SUV in its class, but it gets the job done for city and family use. I would compare it to the Honda HR-V and Chevrolet Trax, and the EcoSport offers great value overall

2018 Ford EcoSport Review The 2018 Ford EcoSport is a subcompact SUV that provides a mix of style, utility, and affordability. While its compact size makes it ideal for urban environments, it has some areas where it falls short compared to its competitors. Pros: 1. Maneuverability and Compact Size: Its small size and high seating position make it easy to navigate through tight city streets and park in small spaces. 2. User-Friendly Technology: The EcoSport offers a well-integrated infotainment system. The available SYNC 3 system is intuitive, featuring an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. 3. Reasonable Cargo Space: For its size, the EcoSport offers a decent amount of cargo space, especially with the rear seats folded down. 4. Affordability: It is one of the more budget-friendly options in its class, which can appeal to those looking for an entry-level SUV. Cons: 1. Underpowered Engine Options: The base 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine feels sluggish, especially when merging onto highways. The optional 2.0-liter four-cylinder, while more powerful, is still not very spirited. 2. Fuel Efficiency: Given its smaller size, the EcoSport’s fuel economy isn’t as impressive as some would expect, with ratings around 27 mpg combined for the front-wheel-drive models. 3. Interior Quality: The interior materials feel dated and include a lot of hard plastics. The cabin doesn’t offer the premium feel found in some of its competitors. 4. Rear Seat Comfort: The rear seats are cramped, making them less ideal for long drives, especially for adults. Overall Verdict: The 2018 Ford EcoSport is a reasonable choice for those who prioritize a small, city-friendly SUV with modern tech features. However, its lackluster performance, average fuel economy, and somewhat basic interior may not appeal to everyone. Potential buyers should consider test-driving competitors like the Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3, or Hyundai Kona before making a final decision.
