What Dodge Grand Caravan do most buyers choose?
The Dodge Grand Caravan years with the most listings are 2018, 2017, and 2019.
| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |
|---|---|---|
| 2018 | 664 | 32.1% |
| 2017 | 571 | 28% |
| 2019 | 565 | 34.2% |
| 2016 | 551 | 28.3% |
| 2020 | 434 | 35% |
| 2015 | 398 | 24.9% |
These higher-volume years tend to be the most popular used picks because they give you more inventory to compare and more chances to find the right price and condition. They also sit in the part of the lineup that many shoppers target for a balance of value, practicality, and availability.
What is the Dodge Grand Caravan's resale value?
| Model Year | Current Avg. Price | Year-Over-Year Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2019 | $17,305 CAD | −18.28% |
| 2020 | $20,775 CAD | −15.26% |
| 2016 | $10,893 CAD | −14.54% |
| 2015 | $10,035 CAD | −14.14% |
| 2014 | $8,413 CAD | −13.31% |
| 2017 | $12,924 CAD | −13.0% |
| 2018 | $15,823 CAD | −8.48% |
Most model years in the table are down by double digits year over year, which creates more room for used buyers to find value. The largest drops are concentrated in the newer end of the range, while the smallest change appears among the more established model years. That pattern points to a market where prices have softened broadly rather than holding steady.
The 2018, 2017, and 2014 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Safety, reliability, great features on the upgraded model all made this the chosen car. The auto doors, lift gate, storage and second row windows are my favorite. Eco mode for gas savings. Bought for a younger person who wants to go on road trips whenever they want.

I really like the keyless entry and the back - up camera. I think the car is a great value . It's not equipped with a spare tire and jack, though, nor could I find how to check or fill the transmission fluid.

Why it stands out
The 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan stands out as a practical, family-focused minivan that leans hard into space and flexibility. It was part of the long-running fifth generation, a period described as one of stagnation in development, but it still offered the features that made the Grand Caravan a familiar choice for buyers who wanted utility over flash. Its cabin was especially notable for Stow ’n Go seating, and Dodge also offered Swivel ’n Go, which let the second-row captain’s chairs face the third row and included a fold-out table and a flip-around entertainment screen. The model also came with MyGIG, remote start, power windows for the sliding doors, standard side curtain airbags, and electronic stability control.
What makes the 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan appealing is how much everyday usefulness it packed into a straightforward package. The interior was designed around convenience, with easy entry and exit, comfortable seating for adults in all rows, and a layout that made the most of its space. Buyers also got a choice of V6 powertrains in this generation, including a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 with 283 hp and 260 lb-ft after the 2011 refresh, along with improvements to the brakes, tyres, ride height, and rear spoiler that helped efficiency. The cabin quality was also improved with a one-piece dash, softer materials, larger gauges, a heated steering wheel, and better fit and finish.
There are trade-offs, though. The final-generation styling was described as drab, and the Grand Caravan was prone to chassis flex and vibrations as it aged. The buying guide also warns about unreliable four-speed automatic transmissions, which is worth keeping in mind on a used example. Even so, for shoppers who value affordability, space, and simple family practicality, the 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan remains distinctive for doing the minivan basics well.
