What should I look for when buying a used Chevrolet Tahoe?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, pedestrian and bicycle braking, automatic parking assist, a surround-view camera, and a teen driver monitoring system.
• Infotainment: a 17.7-inch touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Google Built-in.

Which Chevrolet Tahoe trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe offers these trims:

• LS: The entry trim brings the 17.7-inch touchscreen and the standard ADAS suite, making it the best-value starting point if you want the newest Tahoe tech without moving up the ladder.
• LT: Adds more equipment and comfort features for shoppers who want a more upscale daily driver.
• Z71: Adds full-length skid plates, front recovery hooks, all-terrain tires, 20-inch wheels, and a 2.5-centimetre lift for buyers who want the off-road-focused version.
• RST: Adds street-performance-focused styling and can be equipped with Air Ride adaptive suspension.
• Premier: Adds a more luxurious equipment set for shoppers who want a higher-end cabin.

What Chevrolet Tahoe do most buyers choose?

The Chevrolet Tahoe years with the most listings are 2023, 2024, and 2022.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you more choice, more price spread, and a better chance of finding the right trim and equipment mix. They also sit close enough to the current generation to deliver the Tahoe’s modern space and technology advantages.

What is the Chevrolet Tahoe's resale value?

Most Tahoe model years are showing negative year-over-year movement, which creates more room for used buyers to find value. The largest drops are concentrated in older and mid-cycle years, while a few newer examples are declining more slowly. One model year is moving up, but the overall pattern still favours shoppers looking for a used deal.

The 2015, 2023, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Chevrolet Tahoe safe?

• 2025: 7/10
• 2021: 9/10

Chevy does include a compelling slate of standard Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to help prevent crashes.

For the safest used buy, the 2021 model posts the highest confirmed score of 9/10.
