How much does the BMW X5 cost in today's market?

The BMW X5's current nationwide average price is $43,305 CAD, and its lowest point over the past year was $43,256 CAD. That narrow spread suggests pricing has stayed very close to its recent low. Recently, prices have come down for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 models, making now a good time to shop recent model years.

What should I look for when buying a used BMW X5?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: BMW’s standard driver-assistance suite includes lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, cross traffic alert, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, evasive steering assist, adaptive cruise control, automated lane centring, and safe exit assist.
• Infotainment: BMW’s new infotainment concept combines the display-only Panoramic Vision screen at the base of the windshield with a 17.9-inch central touchscreen and optional 14.6-inch front passenger touchscreen.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2027 BMW X5 40 xDrive is rated by Natural Resources Canada at 9.1 litres per 100 kilometres combined (9.6 city, 8.4 highway).

Which BMW X5 trim should I buy?

The 2027 BMW X5 offers these trims:

• X5 40 xDrive: The base all-wheel drive model uses a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six with 394 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque, plus standard adaptive damping; it suits buyers who want the newest X5 with strong performance and a broad feature set.
• X5 40 xDrive with M Sport Package: This version adds sportier exterior styling elements, M-specific 21-inch wheels, and dark blue brake calipers for shoppers who want a sharper look.
• X5 40 xDrive with M Sport Pro Package: This trim adds an adaptive M suspension, red brake calipers, darkened exterior trim, and a leather-wrapped sport wheel, making it the best-value choice for buyers who want the most complete sporty setup.

What BMW X5 do most buyers choose?

The BMW X5 years with the most listings are 2023, 2022, and 2024.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you a strong mix of availability, pricing, and equipment. When more listings are on the market, you also have a better chance of finding the colour, trim, and condition you want.

What is the BMW X5's resale value?

Most BMW X5 model years show double-digit year-over-year price declines, which creates more room for used buyers to find value. The newer models are falling too, but by smaller percentages than many older years. That pattern suggests the X5 remains desirable while still giving shoppers meaningful savings versus recent pricing.

The 2026, 2024, and 2014 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
