What should I look for when buying a used Audi Q5?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning with swerve and turn aids, lane departure warning, parking sensors, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and an exit alert feature.
• Infotainment: an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and 14.5-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a cooled wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: Official Canadian fuel consumption ratings were not available for the 2025 Audi Q5 as of this writing. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimated combined fuel economy of 9.4 litres per 100 kilometres for the Q5 and 10.7 L/100 km for the SQ5; however, U.S. ratings tend to be lower, as they don’t include as much cold-weather testing.

Which Audi Q5 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Audi Q5 offers these trims:

• Q5: The base model brings the 2.0-litre turbo-four with 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, plus standard quattro all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It suits you if you want the core Q5 experience with strong standard equipment.
• Progressiv: This trim adds matrix-design LED headlights and animated taillights, and it also brings four USB-C ports and a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system with 3D sound. It looks like the best-value trim for many buyers.
• Technik: This trim adds a 10.9-inch touchscreen for the front passenger and air suspension with adaptive damping. It suits you if you want the most advanced cabin and chassis setup in the Q5 line.
• SQ5: The performance model adds a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 with 362 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, sport suspension, 21-inch wheels with performance tires, and a more aggressive exterior treatment. It suits you if you want the quickest and most performance-focused Q5.

What Audi Q5 do most buyers choose?

The Audi Q5 years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

Higher-volume model years usually give you more choice in trims, colours, and equipment combinations, which makes it easier to compare listings and find the right fit. They also tend to be the years shoppers cross-shop most often, so pricing and deal activity are usually easier to evaluate.

What is the Audi Q5's resale value?

The table shows broad year-over-year price declines across the Audi Q5 range, which can work in your favour if you’re shopping used. The steepest drops are concentrated in several recent and mid-cycle model years, while the newest model year shows the smallest change. That pattern suggests used buyers have more room to find value than sellers have to resist price movement.

The 2025, 2021, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
