What should I look for when buying a used Audi Q5?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning with swerve and turn aids, lane departure warning, parking sensors, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and an exit alert feature.
• Infotainment: an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and 14.5-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a cooled wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: Official Canadian fuel consumption ratings were not available for the 2025 Audi Q5 as of this writing. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimated combined fuel economy of 9.4 litres per 100 kilometres for the Q5 and 10.7 L/100 km for the SQ5; however, U.S. ratings tend to be lower, as they don’t include as much cold-weather testing.

Which Audi Q5 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Audi Q5 offers these trims:

• Q5: The base model brings the standard 2.0-litre turbo-four, seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, quattro all-wheel drive, and a strong equipment list; it suits you if you want the core Q5 experience.
• Progressiv: This trim adds matrix-design LED headlights and animated taillights, plus four USB-C ports and a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, making it the best-value choice for many shoppers.

• SQ5: This performance grade adds a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6, sport suspension, 21-inch wheels with performance tires, and quad exhaust tips for buyers who want the most power and the sportiest hardware.

What Audi Q5 do most buyers choose?

The Audi Q5 years with the most listings are 2024, 2025, and 2023.

Higher-volume years usually give you more choice in trims, colours, and equipment combinations, which makes it easier to compare listings side by side. They also tend to be the years shoppers return to most often when they want a balance of availability and value.

What is the Audi Q5's resale value?

Most model years show double-digit price declines, which creates more room for used buyers to find value. The newer years still carry higher prices, but the overall pattern favours shoppers looking for a premium SUV at a lower entry point than new.

The 2025, 2021, and 2017 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
