I loved this car, quality of build and engineering was superb and did not cost me a penny in any repairs as it was soo reliable! Petrol consumption was good and comfort was great for long drives. Car is fun to drive when needed! Pity someone crashed in to us and wrote the car off! So a very safe car as well!

drivetrain is fantastic, body and suspension are too. the interior, and electronics are junk. mine has 218k or so, and has overall had few problems. the main thing is the CIS fuel system, which was too advanced for its time, and now very few know how to use it. not enough of these cars made it here for it to be reasonable to work on. good car though.

I've recently purchased a 1989 Audi 80 Quattro and couldn't be happier. A 17 year old vehicle with a few ticks short of 200,000 miles it starts right up and purrs like a happy kitten. The handling is stable and precise and it handles just like I expect a German sport sedan to handle. It could probably use more power on the low end, but all things considered I believe that I stumbled upon a real gem!

Its 30 years old, so obviously its pretty good in most respects... Steering / handling much more responsive than a modern car, although the grip runs out sooner than a modern. Accelerator far more responsive than modern electonically controlled throttle, so it feels faster than it probably is. Build quality is excellent.
