What should I look for when buying a used Acura RDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: The RDX’s official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy rating is 9.9 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving for the base trim and 10.3 L/100 km combined for the A-Spec trims.
• Infotainment: The infotainment system offers wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and Alexa Built-in, so you can use voice commands to avoid interacting with the TTI as much as possible.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is the name of the standard safety features package.

Which Acura RDX trim should I buy?

The 2025 Acura RDX offers these trims:

• RDX: The base version gives you the standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive, making it the value-focused starting point.
• A-Spec: This trim adds a sportier look with gloss black exterior accents and a finned rear diffuser panel, plus black upholstery as the default.
• Platinum Elite A-Spec: This is the best-value trim if you want the most upscale presentation, with full leather upholstery, a standard panoramic glass sunroof, and the surround-view camera system.

What Acura RDX do most buyers choose?

The Acura RDX years with the most listings are 2024, 2023, and 2020.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they give you a wider selection of trims and prices, which makes it easier to compare options and find a good match for your budget. They also tend to be the years shoppers cross-shop most often when looking for a recent RDX with strong feature content.

What is the Acura RDX's resale value?

Most Acura RDX model years are down year over year, and several of the newer ones show double-digit declines. That pattern is helpful if you’re shopping used, because it means recent models have become more accessible while still offering strong feature content. A few years have softened less than the rest, which suggests some versions are retaining value a bit better than others.

The 2019, 2015, and 2021 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Is the Acura RDX safe?

• 2025: 6/10
• 2023: 7/10
• 2022: 8/10
• 2021: 8/10
• 2020: 9/10

AcuraWatch is the standard safety package on the 2025 model, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.

For the safest used buy, the 2020 model posts the highest confirmed score of 9/10.

Should I buy a used Acura RDX now or wait for the next model?

Buy now if:

• Price trend: The 2025 model is at −10.33% versus a year ago, and the 2024 model is at −10.58%.
• Deal availability: The 2025 model has 35.8% good and great deals, and the 2024 model has 36.6%.
• Sweet-spot year: The 2024 model has the most listings at a current average price of $45,747 CAD. The Acura RDX offers a roomy, upscale cabin with a comfortable everyday character that makes it easy to live with.

Consider waiting if:

• Powertrain/efficiency: Under the RDX’s hood, a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine supplies a robust 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque.
• Tech: Fortunately, the infotainment system offers wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and Alexa Built-in.
• Safety: AcuraWatch is the name of the standard safety features package.
• Starting price: Prices range from $57,526 to $66,356, including the $2,595 destination charge and other fees.

If you're buying used today, the 2024 model year offers the best mix of value and availability. If you want the latest tech and features, it may be worth waiting for the next model year's inventory to build up.
